Betty Jane Heling, 79, of Gillett, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, in Shawano. Born on April 9, 1934, in the town of Belle Plaine, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Laura (Krause) Krause.
Betty lived most of her life in Shawano County. On March 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald Heling. The couple had eight children together before separating. Betty went on to spend more than 30 years with the love of her life, Lew Williams. Betty loved spending time with her family and proudly raised her eight children. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at White Clay Lake. In her free time she enjoyed painting sun catchers and watching old westerns.
Betty is survived by seven children, Dennis (Michelle) Heling, of Watertown, Jeffrey (Karen) Heling, of Marion, Karen (William) Bullock, of Gillett, Sandi (Daniel) Bullock, of Gillett, Glen (special friend, Kathy) Heling, of Shawano, Michelle (Mike) Hewitt, of Neenah, Robert Krause, of Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence and Lyle; and a sister, Marcella Degner.
Betty was preceded in death by her significant other, Lew Williams; her former husband, Donald; her son, Larry; her parents; and seven siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at White Clay Lake with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from noon until the time of service.
