Amanda K. Sutrick, 34, town of Chase, found her resting place in heaven due to natural causes on Wednesday night, Dec. 11, 2013.
She was born Jan. 5, 1979, to Keith and Linda (Rice) Sexton. Amanda grew up in Oconto Falls, where she attended public schools, graduating from high school with the Class of 1998. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and graduated with a teaching degree in 2003.
On May 15, 2004, she married Nathan Sutrick in Oconto Falls. The couple have made their home in the town of Chase, where Amanda first started with Bayport High School before teaching and being the pom pom squad coach at Pulaski High School. In 2007, she returned to Bayport High, where she enjoyed teaching family and consumer education. Amanda was a member of St. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church.
She is survived by her loving and caring husband, Nathan Sutrick; their two beautiful boys, Gavin, age 5 years, and Griffin, age 5 days, all of the town of Chase; her mother, Linda (Larry) Pelishek, Abrams; her father, Keith Sexton, Pensaukee; maternal grandfather, Maynard Rice, Oconto Falls; Wally and Cleo Pelishek, Lena; half-brothers, Phillip and David Sexton; stepsister, Kim Alswede; her in-laws, Jim and Sandy Sutrick, Abrams; her sister-in-law, Shannon (Tim) Konitzer, Abrams; her brother-in-law, Justin “Buck” (Cigi) Sutrick, Little Suamico; her godparents, Pam and Larry Lemorande, Cynthia Brokiewicz; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, all her students and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Carol Rice, and her paternal grandparents, LaVerne and Earl Sexton.
Visitation took place Monday, Dec. 16, at St. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Road, Green Bay. Visitation continued at the church on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Dave Hoffman officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Amanda will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated, steadfast, beautiful and loving soul who considered herself so blessed to find her true calling of being a teacher and mother. She touched so many lives in her short stay on earth, and the many who will miss her will remember the lessons she taught: live well, laugh often and love much!
