AbbyBank invests in Shawano County communities

The AbbyBank Foundation Inc. recently awarded a total of $5,000 to three organizations serving communities throughout Shawano County. These grants support projects that enhance community gathering spaces, expand child care availability for working families and create more flexible learning environments for students.

Funding was awarded to:

Bridge the Gap: $500 to purchase couches and love seats for the organization’s primary group meeting room. These furnishings will provide seating for daily group meetings, social-emotional learning activities, community discussions and peer engagement sessions in a welcoming environment for participants of all abilities.

Marion Day Care, Inc.: $2,500 to support construction of a new building that will expand the center’s child care capacity. The expansion will allow the day care to serve more families from Marion, Tigerton, Clintonville, Caroline, Shawano and surrounding communities, helping parents maintain employment while providing a safe, nurturing environment for children.

Wolf River Lutheran High School: $2,000 to purchase standing desks, stools and new lunchroom tables to support a more dynamic and flexible learning environment. The updates will allow students to choose seating styles that support their learning preferences while also creating shared spaces that encourage interaction and community.

“At AbbyBank, we care deeply about the communities we serve and are proud to support organizations that make a meaningful impact locally,” said Rebecca Kuczer, Shawano branch manager at AbbyBank. “Projects like these help strengthen our communities by supporting families, students and community connections.”

The AbbyBank Foundation was formed in 1986 as a private charitable foundation of AbbyBank, which has contributed more than $1.9 million to the foundation. Since its inception, the foundation has made donations to Abbotsford, Appleton, Green Bay, Gresham, Medford, Shawano, Wausau, Weston and neighboring area organizations totaling nearly $1.5 million.
