3 Panthers make NEC baseball 2nd team

Three Oconto Falls High School baseball players were named to the North Eastern Conference second team.

Senior Tucker Bouche, junior Jake Sager and sophomore Braden Vandermoss were the players recognized.

Bouche logged 43 innings on the mound, the most of any Panther. He pitched in 12 of the team’s 20 games.

He finished the season with a strong 2.28 earned run average while earning four of the team’s six wins and recording a save in another win. He struck out 67 batters.

Oconto Falls High School senior Tucker Bouche intends to play baseball while attending UW-La Crosse in the coming years, but he’s hoping to make more memories with his Panther teammates this spring before graduating.

Bouche had a memorable game in the team’s 3-0 North Eastern Conference victory over Freedom on May 5. Bouche pitched all seven innings, striking out 12 batters and allowing just one hit.

Bouche made the NEC honorable mention team in his sophomore season.

Oconto Falls’ Huber tabbed conference’s offensive, defensive player of year for football

Oconto Falls High School senior Owen Huber was named the offensive and defensive player of the year in the Northwoods Conference.

Huber was a unanimous selection to the offensive first team as a back and defensive team as a linebacker.

“It means a lot because I’ve put in a lot of work and I set my mind to be better, and to receive these awards is amazing,” said Huber. “It shows that my work I do pays off, and that other coaches and players recognize it also.”
