Shawano Fairest of the Fair announced

Lydia Rasmussen has been named the 2024 Fairest of the Fair for the Shawano County Fair. She is the daughter of Jeannine and Erik Rasmussen.

The Shawano County Fair will be held Aug. 29 to Sept. 2.

In the fall, Rasmussen will be a senior at University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where she is studying dairy science with a science emphasis. At college, she is active in the UWRF Dairy Club and coaches local youth softball and basketball teams.

Grace Seefeldt selected Fairest of the Fair

Grace Seefeldt, a graduate of Lena High School, was selected from among four contestants May 18 to serve as 2024 Fairest of the Fair for the Oconto County Youth Fair.

Seefeldt, daughter of Dale and Becky Seefeldt, was active in FFA and 4-H in high school and recently completed her freshman year at South Dakota State University. Her participation was sponsored by Jagiello Dairy Farms LLC.

Shawano County seeking Fairest of the Fair

The Shawano County Fair is seeking candidates for its 2024 Fairest of the Fair.

Application deadline is June 2, and applicants must be 17-23 years of age as of Jan. 1. Individual and group interviews will be held June 15 at the fair office. Coronation will take place June 23 during the Shawano County Brunch On The Farm.

Fairest of the Fair event set for May 18

The Oconto County Youth Fair has experienced a resurgence in applications for the fair’s official ambassador.

Four candidates for the 2024 Oconto County Fairest of the Fair are scheduled to introduce themselves in a competition starting at 11 a.m. May 18 in the Gillett Secondary School Auditorium, 208 W. Main St. The event is open to the public.

The Oconto County Youth Fair Board has begun taking applications for the 2024 Fairest of the Fair/Fair Ambassador, residents of Oconto County who are interested in serving as representatives for the 2024 Fair.

Through the competition, either a Fairest of the Fair or a Fair Ambassador (female or male representative) and an Attendant (first runner-up) will be named. These two individuals will represent the fair at a variety of events throughout the year.

The Oconto County Youth Fair Board has announced the return of the Fairest of the Fair/Fair Ambassador program for 2021.

The board is looking for Oconto County residents who are interested in serving as representatives for the 2021 fair. Several changes have been made to the format.

Through the competition, either a Fairest of the Fair or a Fair Ambassador (female or male representative), and an Attendant (first runner-up) will be named. These two individuals will represent the fair at a variety of events throughout the year.
