Witt-Birn boys golf team wins another CWC meet

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School boys golf team placed first at a Central Wisconsin Conference meet at Bullseye Country Club on May 10 in Wisconsin Rapids.

Witt-Birn posted a team score of 347, well ahead of second-place finishing Wisconsin Valley Lutheran (373). Bonduel (399) claimed fifth, with Marion (466) in eighth and Menominee Indian/Gresham (468) in ninth.

All five of Witt-Birn's varsity golfers finished within five shots of each other. Calvin Scheurer led the way with an 18-hole round of 85.

Brian Nelson and Ian Resch each shot 87s for the Chargers. Nolan Fraaza carded an 88, while Maverick Beran shot a 90.

Bonduel's top individual golfer was Cooper Uelmen (91), with Reed Luepke posting a 97 and Jake Dreyer a 98. Mason Moore (113) and Trey Vandenbrook (121) filled out the team.

Isaiah Gueths and Quinn Tolan led Marion with rounds of 112, while Ellen Radies shot a 116. Sam Gueths (126) and Kasey Roethle (130) capped the team.

Andrew Galland (114) had the top score for the Menominee Indian/Gresham co-op, with Saswaen Shawanokasic a shot back (115). Bryson Nelson (118), Will Jensen (121) and Jack Haffner (136) also represented the co-op.
