Witt-Birn boys golf team wins 5-team invitational

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School boys golf team turned in the top score at a May 21 invitational at Stevens Point Country Club in Stevens Point.

Witt-Birn ended the nine-hole round with a team score of 166, comfortably ahead of Wisconsin Valley Lutheran (193) and Pacelli (200). Menominee Indian/Gresham (252) placed fourth, with Amherst (314) in fifth.

Ian Resch and Calvin Scheurer each fired rounds of 41 to lead Witt-Birn and finish tied as the top individuals on the day.

Maverick Beran and Brian Nelson each shot 42s for the Chargers, while Nolan Fraaza (47) filled out the team.

Anna Petri carded a round of 56 to lead the Menominee Indian/Gresham co-op. Saswaen Shawanokasic and Corbin Welch each fired 61s, while Reese Nietzer (74) and Addi Boucher (79) filled out the five-golfer team.
