Tom Ashenbrenner

Tom Ashenbrenner passed away on Oct. 11 at the age of 69. While fully vaccinated, he died of COVID-19. His family was well known for its work managing the Shawano Lake County Park Pavilion.

Tom started both his radio career at WTCH and playing in bands at the age of 15. He continued working in radio and playing music for the next 50 years. Tom had a magnetic personality and made friends easily. He had a strong interest in local history, loved sharing his home with a variety of dogs and passionately supported his Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. Tom will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Tom is survived by his wife, Susan Anderson, and sister, Sharon Ashenbrenner Charles. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Gary Charles and Peter Anderson (Sara Minkoff), along with three nieces, a nephew and great-nephew.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Vilese Ashenbrenner.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the nurses and doctors in the ICU at Finley Hospital in Dubuque.
