Talon Gus Peters

Talon Gus Peters, 21, started his journey into the spirit world on Thursday, July 18, 2013, in Keshena. Born on July 23, 1991, at the Antigo Hospital, he was the son of Shawn “Boober” Moede and George “Fuzzy” Peters. Talon was a fun-loving father and a very free spirit who loved to play jokes on people and loved to dance and rummage. Talon traveled between the Stockbridge and Menominee Indian reservations and had a home that welcomed him no matter where he went. He loved to fish and play basketball, but his special enjoyment came from all the kids in his huge family, especially his daughter. He loved to chase them, scare them and make them laugh. Talon loved everyone and always had a big smile and a hug whenever he saw you. In his short time on mother earth, Talon has left an imprint on the hearts of all those he came in contact with. Talon is survived by his mother, Shawn Moede of Bowler; his father, George Peters of South Branch; his daughter, LaRae Peters; siblings, Alyx, George, Erma, Jasper and Alec; the mother of his daughter, Marilyn Teller; his grandmother, Lorraine Welch; his grandpa, Bert Moede, Sr.; and his grandma, Patricia “Patsy” Peters. Talon is further survived by numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and friends. Talon was preceded in death by his grandpa, Jim “Flea” Peters; uncle, Mike “Flea” Peters, grandpa, Gibby Hill; and great-grandma, Lois Welch. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Lorraine Welch residence located at W13328 Camp 14 Road, Bowler, with Mr. Jeremy Mohawk and the Rev. Melinda Shriner officiating. Burial will be in the Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds, Bowler. Visitation will be held at the Welch residence from 4 p.m. on Saturday until the time of the service on Monday.
