State track and field results (June 2)

Area track and field individuals and relay teams opened the state tournament with some strong finishes on June 2 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in La Crosse.

Here is a list of individuals and relay teams that competed at state on June 2, events they competed in, places they took and the times or distances/heights they achieved:

Gresham/Bowler

• Emmitt Kietlinski: first in high jump (6-6).

Suring

• Christine Sleeter: tied for fourth in pole vault (10-0).

Witt-Birn

• Reese Rogowski: fifth in 200 (25.12) to qualify for final; seventh in 400 (59.6) to qualify for final; 10th in 100 (12.75) to qualify for final.

• Faith Resch: seventh in 300 hurdles (46.81) to qualify for final.

Gillett

• Alex Peterson: fifth in 3,200 (9:37.61).

• Evan Peterson, Bradyn Wendorff, Ben Matczak, Alex Peterson: fifth in boys 4x800 relay (8:13.6).

Lena/STAA

• Anthony Seefeldt: seventh in shot put (47-10½).

Bonduel

• Ryan Westrich: eighth in shot put (47-8).

• Karter Schroeder: ninth in high jump (6-0).

Shawano

• Adalyn Barkley: eighth in 400 (58.92) to qualify for final.

• Grace Chelberg: eighth in 800 (2:17.62).

Pulaski

• Jack Marsh: eighth in discus (165-6).

• Olivia Sprangers: 16th in 200 (26.54).
