Shawano boys 1st, girls 2nd at track and field invitational

The Shawano Community High School boys track and field team placed first while the girls placed second at the Antigo Dale Peterson Invitational on June 3 in Antigo.

The Shawano boys accumulated 196.5 points to take first. Antigo (106.5) and Newman Catholic (104) took second and third, respectively. The Shawano girls scored 143 points, behind only Mosinee (180).

Elliott Lowney took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.56 seconds. He was also first in the 200 (23.34) and 400 (51.56).

Gage Timm was the top finisher in the long jump (18 feet, 11.5 inches) and triple jump (40-9). Jackson Smits had the top throws in shot put (44-2.5) and discus (128-9).

Sean Larson claimed first in the 300 hurdles (46.59).

The 4x800 girls relay team of Lily Guether, Grace Chelberg, Grace Beyer and Lydia Beyer got the night started with a first-place finish in 10:23.76. Grace Beyer also won the 800 (2:29.64).

Morgan Weinig won both the shot put (34-3.5) and discus (108-6) competitions.

Isabel Roloff took first in the pole vault (9-0), while Onna Hermann was the top finisher in the triple jump (34-0.25).
