Rosemarie Berthiaume

By:

Rosemarie (nee Nelson) Berthiaume passed away March 25, 2023, beginning her next adventure after living 85 beautiful years centered on faith, family, and kindness. She spent her final days surrounded by loved ones, always with a view of her beloved White Lake. Born April 4, 1937, in Escanaba, Michigan, Rosemarie would marry Louis F. Berthiaume on Feb. 7, 1959. They would move to Wisconsin and begin raising a family, first in Milwaukee and then Port Washington before moving to their dream home on White Lake, near Suring, in 1972.

Rosemarie raised five children and spoiled 10 grandchildren. Her children and their families would forever be her focus. Always loving, always generous, with a cookie jar the grandchildren believed was magically refilled, she remained a beacon of light to the end.

Rosemarie is survived by five children, Daniel (Heidi), of Milton, Joseph, of Tyler, Texas, Edward (Ellen), of Appleton, Judy (John), of Eau Claire, and Mary, of Racine; 10 grandchildren, Maria, Jason (Rachael), Adam, Eric, Ryan, Anna, Gunnar, Nicholas, Isabella, and Erin; a brother, John (Suzie), of Milwaukee; a lovable cat named Mr. Muffin, and many cherished relatives, neighbors, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; parents, Gunnar and Marjorie Nelson; and brother, Richard.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring from noon until the memorial service at 2 p.m. Rosemarie will be interred at Hickory Cemetery beside Louis.

Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences can be expressed at www.gruetzmacherfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to ProMedica Home Health and Hospice in De Pere or the Suring Area Public Library would be appreciated.
