The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region has two state highway construction projects scheduled in calendar year 2021. The list includes all WisDOT Northeast Region projects on interstates, the United States highway system and the Wisconsin state highway system.

A 6.7-mile stretch of state Highway 22 is scheduled to be resurfaced from U.S. 141 to U.S. 41 in the towns of Stiles and Oconto. The project is expected to take 45 working days from early July to early September 2021.

The work includes replacing drainage structures and widening the paved shoulders. Crews are also expected to work on the drainage structures in the roundabouts at the U.S. 41-Highway 22 interchange, closing the southbound ramp from U.S. 41 to state Highway 22 for about three days.

Portions of the project will be completed under traffic via flagging operations and/or temporary traffic signals. While work is being completed on the drainage structures along state Highway 22, a detour will be in place for about 30 working days.

The DOT has also scheduled resurfacing of state Highway 32 from the intersection with state Highway 22 in the City of Gillett to Trinity Church Road in the Town of Maple Valley, a distance of about seven miles.

The work is scheduled to run from July through August and involve mill and overlay of the highway, minor grubbing, minor curb and gutter repair, pavement markings and rumble strips.

State Highway 32 is expected to remain open with flagging operations during work hours.
