Coach’s comment on upcoming season: “This year’s team should be deeper from a pitching standpoint. We lost our conference leading hitter in Jonah Klingeisen in average and extra base hits. Offensively we should be able to handle the bat more and be able to create opportunities to pressure the defense. Our team is going to be scrappy offensively, and to be able to compete in our strong conference, defense and pitching will have to lead the way,” said coach Tate McMillan.

“We finished the year in conference play winning seven of our last nine conference games. I believe that this lull last year was due to me being new and trying to figure out our team and how it best meshes together and also they guys getting used to expectations of how we want to play. So far this year, practices have been cleaner, more energetic and more focused as the coaching staff has learned how to better communicate with our players. We now have a clear identity to who we are and buy-in as to how to win games — we should be more competitive and expect to finish in the top half of the conference.”
