Pulaski’s Shaw to participate in 3-point challenge

Pulaski High School senior Derek Shaw was announced as one of the 10 Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association boys participants in the 3-point challenge.

The 3-point challenge will take place at 9:30 a.m. on March 18 at the Kohl Center in Madison. The boys state tournament runs March 16-18. Fans can attend the 3-point challenge with tickets from the morning or afternoon session.

Participants are chosen based on their 3-point shooting numbers entered into www.wissports.net.

Shaw capped the year hitting 76 of his 151 3-point shots for a 50.3 percentage. He’s made 11 more 3-pointers than any other participant. His 3-point percentage ranks sixth out of the 10-player field.

Brookfield Central’s Anthony Rise and Sheboygan North’s Mason Debbink are the participants from Division 1. Shaw and Wisconsin Lutheran’s Kon Knueppel are the Division 2 players.

Watertown Luther Prep’s Ben Vasold and Freedom’s Drew Kortz are from Division 3, while Cumberland’s Vaughn Johnson and Ladysmith’s Logan Alberson are from Division 4. Florence’s William Kelley and Columbus Catholic’s Blake Jakobi are the Division 5 participants.
