Panthers’ Allen makes NEC honorable mention basketball team

Oconto Falls senior Ashlyn Allen earned a spot on the North Eastern Conference honorable mention team in her senior basketball season.

The all-conference honor is the first of Allen’s high school career on the basketball court.

“It’s such a good feeling to see all your hard work pay off, especially in a tough conference,” said Allen. “It really makes all the tournaments, camps, early mornings, and all the time put in over the years worth it.

“I wouldn’t have been able to do any of it without the support of my parents, grandparents, teammates and coaches. I’m forever grateful to them for their constant support over the years and getting me to the point where I have the opportunity to earn an award like this.”

Allen led Oconto Falls in scoring and assists for the season.

In conference play, Allen averaged 8.9 points, including shooting over 30% from the 3-point line.

The senior also averaged 2.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals for the Panthers in NEC play.

Oconto Falls finished the conference portion of the schedule with a 5-13 record.
