Proceedings of March 17

• Joel M. Hartley, 38, Sturdevant, was placed on a year of probation after a county jail sentence was imposed and stayed for felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping, in connection with an incident that occurred Sept. 30, 2021. Judge Jay N. Conley denied a defense motion to dismiss another pending case, in which Hartley is also charged with felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 21, 2021.

• James T. Carriveau, 65, Oconto, pleaded no contest to intimidating a domestic violence victim and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that occurred Aug. 6. Conley scheduled sentencing for May 15 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

• Bond was set at $15,000 cash for Jeremy J. Winter, 38, Coleman, after he was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug-trafficking place, possession of THC (second or subsequent offense) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 9. His initial appearance was adjourned until April 13.

Proceedings of March 16

• A bench warrant was issued for Michelle Lee Flynn, 35, Marinette, after she failed to appear for a hearing on charges of felony bail jumping and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 13.

• A Sept. 19-20 jury trial was scheduled for Rene Hernandez-Fuentes, 44, Suring, on a charge of third-degree sexual assault, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 18. A status conference was scheduled for June 13 and a final pre-trial conference for Aug. 28.

• Jason C. Smith, 37, White Lake, pleaded not guilty to possession of narcotic drugs, bail jumping, possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, and misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property and attempted theft, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 4, and burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred June 26, 2021. Conley scheduled a jury trial for May 31 and June 1, with a final pre-trial conference set for April 21.

• Tanner A. Friebel, 22, Suring, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of methamphetamine, two counts of felony bail jumping, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to install an ignition interlock device, operating while revoked, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 1. He was already awaiting trial on charges of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 26. A bail/bond hearing was scheduled for March 22.

• Paul J. Frewerd, 51, Peshtigo, pleaded not guilty to four counts of mistreatment of animals causing death, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 1 and Oct. 5, 2020; and misdemeanor charges of resisting a conservation warden, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 22, 2020, counts of illegal shining and failure to obtain required hunting approval, in connection with an incident that alleged occurred Sept. 1, 2020; and resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with the alleged incident of Oct. 5, 2020. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 25.

• Amanda J. Borkovec, 35, Pound, pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC (second or subsequent offense) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Jan. 27. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Aug. 17.

• Levi Isaak Johnson, 21, Oconto, pleaded not guilty to child abuse intentionally causing harm, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 10. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for May 25.

Proceedings of March 15

• Michael C. Noffke, 30, Gillett, was ruled not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect after pleading no contest to two counts of aggravated battery, in connection with stabbing injuries to two men at a home in Gillett on Dec. 16, 2021. Conley ordered Noffke committed for treatment until a full disposition hearing can be held April 17.

• Larry Charles Forbush Jr., 54, Menasha, was permitted to withdraw his March 13 no contest plea to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (third offense) with a passenger younger than 16, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Aug. 25. Forbush and his counsel mistakenly believed the charge was a misdemeanor, but it is in fact a felony. He also is charged with operating a motor vehicle with a passenger younger than 16 and a prohibited blood-alcohol content and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for April 13.

• Bond was set at $5,000 cash for Nicole M. Harris, 39, Oconto, after she was charged with possession of methamphetamine, bail jumping, and misdemeanor counts of possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 13. Her initial appearance was adjourned until April 13.

• Bond was set at $3,500 cash for Jason C. Demerath, 46, Oconto, after he was charged with possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor counts of possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred March 13. At a subsequent appearance March 16, a preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 23.

Proceedings of March 14

• Shavon T. Thomas, 30, Green Bay, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded guilty to felony bail jumping, in connection with an incident that occurred June 25. Judge levied fines and court costs totaling $960.

• Maya R. Hrabik, 17, Oconto, was placed on four years of probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for felony bail jumping, escape from criminal arrest, possession of methamphetamine and possession of narcotic drugs, in connection with an incident that occurred June 10. Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that among other probation conditions, Hrabik must maintain absolute sobriety and obtain her HSED or equivalency of high school diploma. She was given credit for 278 days served in the Oconto County Jail.

• A July 25-26 jury trial was scheduled for Shawn C. Saeger Jr., 34, Oconto, on charges of theft of movable property and misdemeanor counts of possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 27. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for July 10.

• Daniel Lee Kamps, 32, Oconto Falls, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to three counts of second-degree sexual assault using force, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred May 22, June 19 and June 24. A pre-trial conference was set for May 25.
