Proceedings of Jan. 27

• A Feb. 1-2 jury trial was postponed to June 20-21 for Steven M. Schmitz, 68, Crivitz, who is charged with three counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Feb. 16, 2020. Another jury trial was No. 1 among those scheduled to proceed on Feb. 1. Judge Jay N. Conley granted a defense motion to convert Schmitz’s $10,000 cash bond to a signature bond and ruled that the June 20 trial would hold the top priority position on the court calendar. A final pre-trial conference and motion hearing were scheduled for June 5.

• Sara J. Scimemi, 36, Little Suamico, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to misstating facts in a food stamp applications and Medicaid fraud, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 8, 2020. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Feb. 16.

• After a preliminary hearing Paul J. Frewerd, 51, Peshtigo, was bound over on four counts of mistreatment of animals causing death, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 1 and Oct. 5, 2020; and misdemeanor charges of resisting a conservation warden, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 22, 2020, counts of illegal shining and failure to obtain required hunting approval, in connection with an incident that alleged occurred Sept. 1, 2020; and resisting or obstructing an officer, in connection with the alleged incident of Oct. 5, 2020. Arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 16.

Proceedings of Jan. 26

• Carla Renee Cooper, 45, Mountain, was placed on three years of probation after a prison sentence was imposed and stayed for burglary, in connection with an incident that occurred June 12, 2020, and felony bail jumping and possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that occurred May 20 of this year. Among other conditions Judge Michael T. Judge ruled that Cooper must maintain absolute sobriety and not be involved with anyone known to use illegal drugs.

• Ramon Mack Guillory, 35, Lake Charles, Louisiana, was placed on three years of probation beginning with 100 days in the county jail for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fourth offense), in connection with an incident that occurred April 13. Judge imposed fines and court fees totaling $3,893.50, revoked Guillory’s driver’s license for three years and ordered that ignition interlock devices be installed in his vehicles.

Proceedings of Jan. 25

• A Feb. 7-10 jury trial was canceled for Joey J. Vandewettering, 59, formerly of Gillett, and he agreed to plead no contest to first-degree reckless endangerment, in connection with an incident that occurred May 1. Charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, battery to a law officer, and misdemeanor battery were dismissed. Vandewettering was charged with breaking a truck’s windshield with a trident spear, shoving it at the driver, narrowly missing him, and finally discharging a shotgun at the truck as it drove away during a confrontation in the Town of Oconto Falls. Judge Jeffrey Wisnicky levied fines and court costs totaling $538 and sentenced him to time served — 270 days — in the Oconto County Jail.

• Travis Lee Thomack, 35, De Pere, pleaded no contest to possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that occurred March 6, 2022. Judge scheduled sentencing for April 6 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Proceedings of Jan. 24

• A Sept. 19-21 jury trial was scheduled for Travis R. Bolssen, 47, an inmate at Stanley Correctional Institution, on a charge of the repeated sexual assault of the same child, in connection with incidents that allegedly occurred in 2020. A final pre-trial conference was scheduled for Aug. 14.

• Suzanne Louise Heroux, 63, Crivitz, pleaded no contest to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fourth offense), in connection with an incident that occurred Aug. 10. Judge scheduled sentencing for March 28 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

• Christopher L. Stein, 38, Peshtigo, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, in connection with an incident that occurred Dec. 4. Judge scheduled sentencing for March 28 and ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

• Jeffrey M. Collard, 52, a Green Bay resident currently serving time at Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (fifth or sixth offense) and misdemeanor counts of operating while license is revoked, ignition interlock device violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred July 31. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 20.

• Lacey M. Rose, 39, Oconto, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to misstating facts in a food stamp application, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Dec. 1, 2014. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Feb. 16.

• Carl H. Strege, 58, Oshkosh, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to fleeing an officer in a vehicle and misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer, possession of cocaine, and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (third offense), in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Oct. 14. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 16.

• Michael R Mayville, 57, Abrams, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred Nov. 19. A pre-trial conference was scheduled for March 16.

• Stephanie S. Farvour, 37, Gillett, waived her right to a preliminary hearing and was bound over on two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment, one count of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred May 16, 2022. Arraignment was scheduled for Feb. 16.
