No Bonduel, Lena, Marion golfers advance to state

No Bonduel, Lena or Marion boys golfers advanced to state despite some strong showings at the Division 3 Crivitz Sectional at Hunter's Glen Golf Club in Crivitz on June 8.

Bonduel and Lena competed as teams while Isaiah Gueths represented Marion. Bonduel placed fourth with a score of 373, while Lena came in ninth with a mark of 403.

Marathon (343) and Newman Catholic (345) placed first and second as teams to qualify for state.

Bonduel's Cooper Uelmen led the team with an 18-hole round of 84 to tie for ninth overall. He missed qualifying for state by five shots, as three golfers fired rounds of 79 to tie for first.

Jake Dreyer fired a round of 90 for Bonduel to tie for 16th. Reed Luepke (97), Mason Moore (102) and Sam Wolf (133) filled out the Bears' lineup.

Braden McVane and Mason Simonson each carded rounds of 92 to lead Lena on the course.

Lena's Evan VanderZanden and K.C. Miller finished with scores of 109 and 110, respectively. The Wildcats didn't have a fifth golfer.

Marion's Gueths shot a round of 109, tying for 50th as an individual.
