NEW Media seeks participants for new food feature in 2022

NEW Media is planning to kick off a new feature in 2022 called “Inside the Kitchens of Northeast Wisconsin,” which will feature local recipes and the cooks who craft them.

What makes this feature different from food features in other publications is that there is a detailed story where the focus is on the food itself and why it is enjoyed so much.

NEW Media is looking for those who have an old family recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation that either still holds as true today as it did decades ago or has been tweaked to work with modern staples. Other potential stories include plans for a delicious meal, including several interesting dishes that others might enjoy putting together for their families, or someone who knows a variety of ways to make something delicious (i.e., different ways to make grilled cheese sandwiches or different kinds of pie).

If there’s an interesting story behind the food, NEW Media wants to know about it and share some joyous news with readers in Shawano, Menominee and Oconto counties. The recipes and cooks featured will appear in all three newspapers — Shawano Leader, Wittenberg Enterprise and Birnamwood News, and Oconto County Times Herald, as well as online at www.newmedia-wi.com.
