Shawano 4

Shawano was eliminated from regional play after a second loss to Seymour on July 24 in Kaukauna. Shawano went 1-2 in regional play, and Kaukauna went on to win the regional.

Shawano trailed 6-1 after four innings and tallied three of its runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Patriots committed five errors in the loss.

Andrew Popp had two hits and two RBIs to lead Shawano at the plate, while Ashton Henning drove in a run, posted two hits and scored twice. Jake Polzin had the team's other RBI and reached base three times.

Ethan Demunck took the loss after pitching the first two innings. Henning worked the next four innings before Joey Sperberg pitched the seventh.

Shawano 10

Freedom 2

Shawano avoided elimination with a convincing win over Freedom on July 23 in Kaukauna. The Patriots had a 4-1 lead before a six-run sixth inning blew the game open.

Braedyn Kowalkowski, Jake Polzin and Joey Sperberg all drove in two runs for Shawano. Carson Popp had three hits, while Ashton Henning, Kowalkowski and Sperberg had two each. Ethan Demunck, Popp and Henning all scored twice.

Bryce Popp started on the mound and allowed a run over 1⅔ innings. Polzin worked the final 5⅓ innings, allowing an unearned run.

Seymour 14

Shawano 0 (5 inn.)

Shawano managed just one hit in a lopsided loss to Seymour in the opening game of the Class AA Kaukauna Regional on July 22 in Kaukauna.

Andrew Popp had Shawano’s lone hit and also stole two bases. Jake Polzin walked for the team’s only other baserunner.

Andrew Popp took the loss on the mound after allowing eight runs over three innings. Only three of the runs he allowed were earned after three Shawano errors. Bryce Popp got the final three outs for the Patriots.
