Jerry B. Hanson

Jerry B. Hanson, 92, of Pensaukee, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was born to the late Ernest and Evelyn (De Caster) Hanson on April 6, 1930, in Pensaukee. He married the former Doris Heimke on Dec. 29, 1971.

Jerry farmed on the family farm for many years. He worked for Schneider National until retiring after 28 years. Jerry served as town chairman for the Town of Pensaukee and the Pensaukee Fire Department. for many years. He enjoyed spending time up north at the cabin hunting, fishing and riding his four-wheeler. Jerry was a longtime member of the Oconto Elks Club 887, and a member of First American Lutheran Church of Oconto. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Doris; children, James (Kathie) Hanson, Diane Motiff, Beth (Kurt) Hensberger, Wanda (Ron) Hugo and Penny Schmidt; grandchildren, Heather (David) Noto, Jeremy (special friend Charissa) Hanson, Amanda Younger, Amanda Gauthier, Melissa (Peter) Duerr, Andy Coshenet, Tiffany (Nate) Koske, Casey (Chad) Cardinal, Sami (Marty) LaCourt, Megan (Cody) Garrity and Adam Schmidt; great-grandchildren, James, T.J., Junior, Anja, Xenia, Nolan, Aiden, Mia, and Weston

He is also survived by a sister, Lucille Schneider; in-laws, Willard Heimke, Darrell (Judy) Heimke, Karen Heimke, Doreen (Robert) Krause and Donna (Al) Cudnohosky; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Faye (Francis) Hearley; a son, Daniel Hanson; in-laws, William Motiff, Harland, Wayne, Charlene and William Heimke and Virginia (Robert) LeFevre.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, 121 Chicago St., Oconto, on Thursday, April 6, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. beginning with a service by the Oconto Elks Club 887 and continuing with the celebration of life with Chaplain Nicole Collins officiating. Jerry will be placed to rest at Brookside Cemetery.
