Gresham finishes 2-0 at triangular

Gresham swept Phelps and Menominee Indian at a triangular in Phelps on Saturday. The Wildcats topped Phelps 25-17, 25-13, 25-14 and Menominee Indian 25-15, 25-18, 25-17.

Against Phelps, Karisa Nietzer finished with 15 kills and four aces, while Brooklyn Hoffman had 15 assists and six digs. Kalayla Tucker contributed nine service points.

In the win over Menominee Indian, Nietzer tallied 11 kills. Tucker finished with nine digs, Hannah Cerveny tallied 10 assists and Makayla Belongia had 16 service points and five aces.

“We got off to a very slow start today and committed too many unforced errors,” said Gresham coach Tim Wild. “As the day went on, we did a much better job with court coverage and setting the ball up to our hitters.”

Bowler wins Suring Tournament

Bowler posted a 4-0 record to win the Suring Tournament on Saturday. The Panthers topped White Lake 25-5, 25-13, Stockbridge 25-13, 25-14, Tigerton 25-18, 27-25 and Goodman-Pembine 25-21, 25-17 in the title match.

In the championship match, Kayla Pecore had seven attack kills, seven digs and four aces to lead Bowler. Alyssa Strassburg finished with six attack kills, while Brooke Thiex had 10 assists. Thiex tallied six attack kills and 10 assists in the win over Tigerton, while Tynea Johnson had 10 digs and Ireland DeRoos seven digs.

Strassburg led Bowler with five kills and three aces against Stockbridge, while Thiex had four kills, eight assists and five digs. Thiex contributed five assists, Johnson had six digs and DeRoos served five aces against White Lake.

Tigerton goes 2-2 at tournament

Tigerton finished 2-2 on the day at the Suring Tournament, taking down White Lake (25-19, 25-12) and Suring (25-18, 25-9) while losing to Goodman-Pembine (25-6, 25-23) in its other three matches.

On the day, Ladia Block finished with 25 digs, Adrienne Brady led the team with 22 service points and 27 assists and Savannah Swartz had 15 kills and five aces.

Skyler Hauser tallied 16 digs and 18 service points, while Abby Swartz contributed 13 kills.

GIRLS GOLF

Shawano takes 18th at invite

Shawano earned a team score of 397 to place 18th at the Appleton West Terror Invite on Saturday at Winagamie Golf Course in Neenah.

Kiley Rusch and Taylor Johnson led the Hawks with 18-hole rounds of 88 to tie for 26th as individuals.
