Herbert F. Fischer

Herbert F. Fischer graduated to Heaven’s glory by faith alone in Christ alone on May 19, 2021. He was born April 8, 1940, to Charlie and Frieda (Krause) Fischer.

Herb graduated from Gillett High School with the Class of 1958. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in September 1958 and served as a field medic until his honorable discharge in July 1961. The first Saturday of October 1961, Herb met the love of his life, Jenny Zahn, at the Gillett Sportsman Club annual dance, held at the old park pavilion. The Dick Rodgers Orchestra provided the music. Herb and Jenny married Nov. 10, 1962. They had two sons, Scott and Mitchell. Together they purchased a farm in the Township of Angelica in 1965 and have been there ever since.

Herb is survived by his loving wife, Jenny, Angelica; son, Scott (Carol) Fischer, Iowa, and their children, David, Sarah, Benjamin and Samuel; and son, Mitchell Fischer, Angelica.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Arnold and Edmund; and a sister, Caroline.

Per Herb’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services. The family will celebrate his life quietly together.

You are welcome to send any cards of condolence to the funeral home (make sure you put the family’s name on the outside envelope and your return address), and we will forward your cards and messages to the Fischer family.
