Gresham/Bowler girls win track and field meet

Tigerton girls 3rd, Marion 7th, while Gresham/Bowler boys place 4th

The Gresham/Bowler girls track and field team earned a first-place finish at the May 18 Wild Rose 7-Team Meet in Wild Rose.

The Gresham/Bowler girls scored 113 points, comfortably ahead of Wild Rose (81). Tigerton took third with 57 points, while Marion scored 12 points to come in seventh.

The Gresham/Bowler boys tallied 45 points to place fourth. Wild Rose and Iola-Scandinavia tied for first with 166 points.

Hannah Cerveny won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 56.6 seconds, while Josie Cerveny had the top time in the 800 (3:11:63) to lead the Gresham/Bowler girls to first place.

Valarie Cerveny (triple jump, shot put), Ireland Jensen (high jump), Maddie Haffner (3,200) and Hannah Cerveny (100 hurdles) all placed second.

Mary Kreklow won the 1,600 (7:00.31) and 3,200 (14:41.51) to lead the Tigerton girls. Elizabeth Robbins claimed second in the 200.

Emmitt Kietlinski won the high jump after clearing 5-10 to lead the Gresham/Bowler boys. He was also second in the triple jump.

Marion's top finish came from Haiyle Larson, who placed fourth in the girls triple jump.
