Gresham/Bowler girls track and field team 3rd at invite

The Gresham/Bowler girls track and field co-op placed third at the May 24 Marion Mustang Invite in Marion.

The girls co-op accumulated 87 points, behind Manawa (102) and Shiocton (98). Menominee Indian (54) placed fourth, and Tigerton (18) tied for seventh. Marion also competed but didn’t earn any points.

On the boys side, Manawa (177) took first. Gresham/Bowler (37) came in fourth and Menominee Indian (12) fifth.

The Gresham/Bowler 4x200-meter relay team of Kalayla Tucker, Isabella Stevens, Valarie Cerveny and Ireland Jensen placed first in 2 minutes, 4.9 seconds. The 4x800 team of Abby Page, Hazel Tepiew, Josie Cerveny and Tynea Johnson took first in 13:17.37.

Emmitt Kietlinski won the high jump after clearing 6 feet to lead the Gresham/Bowler boys team. Zach Ziemer took first in discus with a top throw of 113-2.

Guadalupe Corn and Emma Komanekin led the Menominee Indian girls with first-place finishes in the shot put (38-10.75) and 1,600 (5:48.29), respectively.

Asenex Turney claimed third in the discus (109-1.75) for the Menominee Indian boys’ top finish at the invite.

Elizabeth Robbins and Mary Kreklow placed third in the 200 (28.42) and 3,200 (15:48.37) for the Tigerton girls’ top finishes.

Haiyle Larson took ninth in the triple jump (25-7) for the top finish from the Marion girls team.
