Gauderman, Marquardt, Kristof earn all-state football honors

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s David Gauderman and Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy co-op’s Sam Marquardt and Josh Kristof were named to Wisconsin Football Coach Association’s All-State Teams on Nov. 14.

Gauderman made the Small School All-State Team as an offensive back. Marquardt made the 8-player All-State Team as a running back, while Kristof was an honorable mention as an inside linebacker.

Gauderman was a workhorse for the Chargers, rushing for 1,539 yards and 16 touchdowns on 149 attempts. He also caught 12 passes for 157 yards and three scores.

The Witt-Birn senior was the Co-Offensive Player of the Year in the Central Wisconsin Conference-Large Division. He also made the all-conference first team for his play at linebacker.

Marquardt capped his senior season with 1,563 rushing yards and 25 scores. The quarterback also threw for 491 yards and nine scores.

Marquardt was the Offensive Player of the Year in the Peninsula Conference, while making the second team on defense.

Kristof finished his senior year with 124 total tackles, with 22 going for losses. He also forced a pair of fumbles.

Kristof was the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference.
