College Highlights (Jan. 27)

Saginaw Valley State University

Shawano High School graduate Tori DePerry had a memorable week on the court and helped the Saginaw Valley State women’s basketball team to a pair of wins.

In a win over Ferris State on Jan. 19, DePerry posted 22 points, nine rebounds, one assist and one steal across 31 minutes.

DePerry had 14 points, four boards, three assists and one block across 26 minutes in a victory over Lake Superior State on Jan. 21. She reached 1,000 points for her college career on a layup early in the contest.

UW-Stevens Point

Oconto Falls grad Joe Adams, Menominee Indian grad Guadalupe Corn and Pulaski grad Lindsey Jossie all competed for the UW-Stevens Point track and field teams during a triangular on Jan. 21.

Corn competed in the women’s shot put (12.84 meters) and weight throw (13.18 meters), placing third and 12th, respectively. Jossie placed eighth in the women’s long jump (4.55 meters) and 60 hurdles (10.95 seconds).

Adams ran in the men’s 1-mile, taking 36th in 4:44.09.

Oconto Falls grad Graeson Pankratz wrestled a couple times for UW-Stevens Point last week.

Pankratz picked up a forfeit win in the team’s win over Carthage on Jan. 19. He wrestled in two extra matches against UW-Whitewater on Jan. 20, losing by major decision and decision.

Pulaski grads T.J. Shaw and Gracie Mihalski each swam in multiple events for the UWSP swim teams during the Point Invite on Jan. 20-21.

Shaw placed 12th in the men’s 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.19. He was also on the seventh-place finishing 400 freestyle relay (3:28.13) and ninth-place finishing 200 medley relay (1:47.9).

Mihalski took 13th in the women’s 50 freestyle (27.62). She was on the ninth-place finishing 200 medley relay (2:05.08) and 11th-place finishing 400 freestyle relay (4:12.58).

St. Martin’s University

Gresham graduate Christian Haffner helped the St. Martin’s men’s basketball team to a pair of wins last week.

In a win over Alaska Fairbanks on Jan. 19, Haffner played 12 minutes, tallying three points, one rebound and one assist.

Haffner totaled 17 points, three boards and four assists in a victory over Alaska Anchorage on Jan. 21. Five of his six field goals made were 3-pointers.

Ripon College

Gillett grad Angela Mosconi ran in the 3,000-meter run for the Ripon women’s track and field team at the Red Hawk Opener on Jan. 21.

Mosconi placed seventh in the event with a time of 11:59.2.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood grad Lauren Bahr competed in three events for the Ripon women’s swim team in a dual against St. Norbert on Jan. 21.

Bahr placed third in the 50 freestyle (27.09) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:07.11). She was on the third-place finishing 200 medley relay team (2:10).

Cardinal Stritch University

Gillett graduate Aubrey DeBauch continued to produce for the Cardinal Stritch women’s basketball team last week across two games.

In a loss to UW-Parkside on Jan. 16, DeBauch played 23 minutes, tallying four points, seven rebounds and two steals. DeBauch then had six points, six boards, one block, one assist and one steal across 27 minutes in a loss to Trinity Christian on Jan. 18.

UW-Green Bay

Witt-Birn grad McKenna Metropulos has several strong finishes while swimming for the UW-Green Bay women’s team during a dual against Northern Michigan on Jan. 20.

Metropulos placed second individually in the 100 butterfly (1:00.54) and 100 freestyle (53.56). She was on the second-place finishing 200 freestyle relay (1:40.42) and third-place finishing 400 medley relay (4:01.31).

St. Cloud State University

Pulaski graduate Jasmine Litt dished out an assist in her minute on the court during the St. Cloud State women’s basketball team’s win over Sioux Falls on Jan. 21.

Litt has now played in 17 games this season.

Wisconsin Lutheran College

Bonduel grad Kara Troxel started and helped the Wisconsin Lutheran College women’s basketball team to two wins last week.

Troxel posted 14 points, one rebound and one assist across 16 minutes played in the team’s win over Marian on Jan. 18. She totaled seven points, four boards and one assist in 24 minutes against Concordia Chicago on Jan. 21.

Bonduel grad Carson Robaidek played four minutes in the WLC men’s basketball team’s win over Finlandia on Jan. 18. He grabbed a pair of rebounds while on the court.

St. Norbert College

Lena graduate Kennedy Marquardt and Oconto Falls graduate Emily Gonnering both represented the St. Norbert women’s track and field team at two different events last week.

Marquardt ran on the 4x400 relay team that placed seventh in 4 minutes, 13.94 seconds at the Gladstein Invitational on Jan. 20-21.

Gonnering placed third in the weight throw with a toss of 12.59 meters and was sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 9.58 meters at the Lake Michigan Open on Jan. 21.

UW-Parkside

Pulaski grad Sheridan Flauger and the UW-Parkside women’s basketball team won two games last week.

Flauger recorded 18 points, six rebounds, three steals, one block and one assist across 33 minutes in a win over Cardinal Stritch on Jan. 16. In 34 minutes and a tight win over Purdue Northwest on Jan. 21, Flauger contributed seven points, four boards, two assists and one steal.

Concordia University

Bonduel graduate Kalleigh Schroeder turned in a third-place finish in the long jump while representing the Concordia women’s track and field team at the Karl Schlender Invitational on Jan. 21.

Schroeder earned her finish with a top jump of 4.78 meters.

Shawano grad Rachel Reed played 12 minutes in the Concordia women’s basketball team’s loss to St. Norbert on Jan. 18. She grabbed a rebound and dished out an assist during her time on the court.

UW-Eau Claire

Suring grad Mitch Stegeman, Oconto Falls grad Autumn Canavera and Gillett grad Ryann Wagner all competed for the UW-Eau Claire track and field teams during a triangular on Jan. 21.

Stegeman finished second in the men’s 60 hurdles (8.61 seconds) and eighth in the high jump (1.9 meters).

Canavera ran in the women’s 1-mile, taking eighth in 5:30.5. Wagner came in 32nd in the 1-mile run with a mark of 6:10.05.

University of Dubuque

Pulaski graduate Aaron Hawpetoss took part in two events for the Dubuque men’s track and field team during the Moco Mercer Open on Jan. 21.

Hawpetoss placed 16th in the shot put with a top throw of 11.75 meters. He did not record a distance in the weight throw.

UW-Milwaukee

Shawano grad Isabel Roloff had a strong day of competition for the UW-Milwaukee women’s track and field team at the John Tierney Classic on Jan. 21.

Roloff placed second in the 60-meter dash (7.82 seconds) and pole vault (3.3 meters). She took seventh in the 200 dash (27.37 seconds).

Bemidji State University

Shawano graduate Brooke Theis played double-digit minutes in both of the Bemidji State women’s basketball team’s games last week.

Across 13 minutes and a loss to Wayne State on Jan. 20, Theis posted two blocks and a rebound. Theis had three points, two steals and a block across 12 minutes during a loss to Augustana on Jan. 21.

Grand Canyon University

Witt-Birn grad Wyatt Dickman earned three top-five finishes while swimming for the Grand Canyon men’s team during a triangular on Jan. 21.

Dickman placed third in the 400 IM (4:07.84) and was fifth in the 100 breaststroke (56.89) and 200 breaststroke (2:06.65).

UW-Platteville

Pulaski graduates Kayla Lipsey and Eian Ziemer each competed for the UW-Platteville track and field teams during a triangular on Jan. 21.

Lipsey earned third in the women’s 60 hurdles (9.62 seconds), sixth in the long jump (4.76 meters) and eighth in the 200 dash (27.68 seconds).

Ziemer ran in the men’s 60 (7.71) and 200 (24.98), placing 12th and 18th, respectively.
