Charges filed in fatal truck-motorcycle crash

An Oconto Falls man was charged with homicide by the intoxicated use of a motor vehicle after a collision between a motorcycle and pickup truck claimed a life Aug. 3.

Bond was set at $50,000 cash for Thomas Edward Wolf, 56, after he was formally charged in Oconto County Circuit Court on Aug. 4. Judge Michael T. Judge adjourned his initial appearance until Aug. 11.

The Oconto County Sheriff’s Department was called to County Road I near Beaver Lake Road in the Town of Oconto Falls around 8:45 p.m.

Investigators said the pickup truck, driven by Wolf, was traveling south on County Road I when it collided with a motorcycle, also traveling south and driven by a 60-year-old man from Oconto Falls.

The driver and lone occupant of the motorcycle was ejected and died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The victim’s name was not immediately released pending notification of family.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Oconto Falls Fire Department, Oconto Falls Ambulance Service, Oconto County Highway Department, Oconto County Emergency Management, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
