Chargers place fourth at Eau Claire North

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s swimmers captured fourth place out of 11 teams at Eau Claire North.

The Chargers collected 173 points. Wausau West won the invite with 282 points.

After the 1-meter diving event, Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Kelsie Davis, Reese Dickman, Faith Resch and Olivia Bessette won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58.77. Teammates Addison Schmid, Chloe Hanson, Rylee Crick and Claire Timm placed 11th in 2:21.63.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Timm placed 11th in 2:28.93. Teammates Andrea Powell finished 13th and Elizabeth Behnke was 17th.

Resch placed second in the 50-yard freestyle in 25.79, and Dickman placed third in 25.85. Ava Filtz was 49th.

Davis placed second in the 100-yard butterfly in 1:01.93, and Crick was 10th in 1:15.06. Ava Hegewald finished 16th.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Resch captured third in 58.09. Timm was 21st, and Hanson was 34th.

Bessette placed eighth in the 500-yard freestyle in 6:25.93. Powell was 13th, and Behnke was 18th.

The 200-yard freestyle relay was won by Resch, Bessette, Davis and Dickman in 1:46.45. Schmid, Hegewald, Behnke and Timm placed 12th in 2:07.37.

Davis swam to second place in the 100-yard backstroke, completing the race in 1:01.99. Schmid was 21st, and Filtz was 26th.

Dickman was the winner of the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.06, and Crick placed fifth in 1:19.66. Hanson was 20th.

In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Bessette, Hegewald, Crick and Powell pulled out an 11th-place finish in 4:38.39.
