Century Farm application deadline nears

Chad and Cindy Holtz, encouraged by their children, applied for Century Farm certification in 2020 for the homestead in the Town of Oconto Falls. Chad’s grandfather Walter Holtz purchased the property in 1917. The farm is currently owned by a great-grandson, Brady Holtz. Started in 1948 to celebrate the state centennial, the Wisconsin State Fair honors landowners whose property has been in their family for 100 or 150 years. The ownership to property must be a blood relative of the original owner or a legally adopted child of a descendant. The March 1 deadline to get your Century or Sesquicentennial property application into the Wisconsin State Fair is right around the corner. Applications can be found by searching online for “Wisconsin Century Farm application 2024” or picking one up at the Oconto Falls Community Library.
