Celebrate Menominee’s Cultural Heritage Day

The annual Menominee Indian Tribe’s lumberjack breakfast and Cultural Heritage Day workshops are slated for Oct. 12 at the Menominee Logging Camp Museum, W3426 County Road VV, Keshena.

Sponsored by the Menominee Tribal Historical Preservation Office, serving of the breakfast fundraiser will begin at 8 a.m. and continue until the food is gone.

The menu will consist of eggs, fried potatoes, oatmeal, toast, two pieces bacon, two sausages and your choice of beverage of coffee, tea, juice or milk. Also, real maple syrup will be served for all the pancakes you can eat.

Admission is $10 for adults, $6 for children younger than 10, and free for children 2 and younger.

Cultural Heritage Days activities will include traditional rice processing, a Menominee language session, make your own tea, music by Jacob Grignon and Skip Jones, and more.

Bring a homemade pie for the pie auction and be entered into a special drawing. The pie auction will begin at 11 a.m.

Many basket raffle items will be available, and there will also be craft vendors on site.

All proceeds from the raffle go toward the 2025 Sturgeon Feast and Celebration Pow-wow.

All prizes not picked up in 30 days will be considered a donation to the museum for the next fundraising event.
