Seniors Garrett Engel and Cole Anderson each landed on the CWC-East first team. Seniors Brett Margelofsky and Jack Johnson made the second team, while senior Carson Robaidek was on the honorable mention list.

Engel finished the season with a .456 batting average. He belted three home runs and seven doubles and drove in 28 runs. The senior stole 15 bases and scored 22 runs.

“Making first team meant a lot to me,” said Engel. “It was one of my goals this year obviously and it felt rewarding to achieve it.”

Anderson was a threat at the plate and workhorse on the hill to earn his first-team spot.

On the mound, Anderson had a 5-2 record and pitched 46 innings. He posted a 3.65 earned run average and struck out 47 batters.

Anderson had a .284 batting average at the plate. He drove in 19 runs, scored 14 runs and stole eight bases.

“It means a lot to me because this was my last season playing high school baseball, I will never play another high school game,” said Anderson. “Also, it meant a lot to me because we didn’t have a season last year. However, I couldn’t ever of achieved this without my team that got us as far as we did.”

Johnson was also a threat at the plate and on the mound for the Bears.

The senior pitched 22 innings, striking out 27 batters and finishing the year with a 2.91 ERA. He also earned a win.

At the plate, Johnson put together a .333 batting average, drove in 14 runs and scored 15 times.

“With the way everything happened last year and nobody getting a season, to us it meant we just had to work twice as hard to get back to where we were,” said Johnson. “It still wasn’t the perfect season we were working for but all good things come to an end. I’m just happy to have my teammates with me for the ride. We’re all just on the field playing the best game we can and that’s the dream.”

Margelofsky posted a .361 batting average for the season. The senior tallied eight extra base hits among his 26 total.

Margelofsky also drove in 18 runs and scored 16 more times.

“It means a lot to me to make all-conference second team to end my high school sports career,” said Margelofsky. “I had a lot of expectations for myself at the start of the season and even after a rough patch in the middle of the season, I’m still proud of what I accomplished this year.

“I think I definitely could’ve played a lot better, but I’m very happy that I went out there every game and played as hard as I could all year long.”

Robaidek finished the year with a .329 batting average. An on-base machine, the senior also stole 21 bases.

He also scored 35 runs and drove in 16 runs.

“It means a lot to me to contribute to the team enough to make an all-conference team in my last sport season in Bonduel,” said Robaidek. “It will leave a memory for me for the rest of my life knowing in my last season I helped the team enough and got the respect from the other coaches in the conference. I will remember this season forever.”

Menominee Indian

Junior Wendell Waukau Jr. made the CWC-East second team for Menominee Indian, while junior George Bruette Jr. and senior Jamison Besaw were part of the honorable mention team.

Waukau finished the season with a .309 batting average. He homered twice and doubled seven times while also driving in 12 runs for the Eagles.

“Making second team all-conference is a big accomplishment and made me realize that a lot of the hard work and dedication does pay off. It means a lot to be one of the few baseball players in the conference to get awarded with a conference award,” said Waukau. “A lot of what my coaches (Richard Wayka, Karl Peters) taught me throughout the season helped me reach this achievement.

“It will motivate me to push harder this offseason and to hopefully be one of the athletes who get awarded with first team (next spring).”

Bruette led Menominee Indian in hits, and finished the year with a .333 batting average.

The junior also homered and drove in five runs to earn his all-conference spot.

“It’s great, but it shows me how much harder I have to work for being honorable mention,” said Bruette.

Besaw started seven games on the mound for Menominee Indian, logging 29 innings and sporting a 4.8 ERA. He struck out 35 batters.

At the plate, Besaw had a .227 batting average to go along with five RBIs. He legged out five doubles.
