Gresham 20

Shawano 2

Gresham opened its season with a seven-inning win over Shawano on May 9 in Gresham.

Nate Ejnik clubbed a grand slam, while Joe Ejnik had four hits to lead Gresham at the plate. Derrick Bowman earned the win on the mound.

Shawano was held to just four hits in the contest. Mike Korth was handed the loss.

Little Falls 8

Marion 4

Little Falls doubled up Marion on May 9 in Marion.

Chris Dunn led Little Falls with three hits, while Jenner Gullixon and Cam Grunewald each added two hits. Carter Kurki was the winning pitcher.

Joel Weyenberg took the loss for Marion. Dave Jueds and Nate Reynolds led the team’s offense with two hits each.

Tilleda 13

Tigerton 2

Tilleda eased to a win over Tigerton on May 9 in Tigerton.

Tegan Lehman drove in three runs on two hits for Tilleda, while Steve Reinke drove in a pair on two hits. Zach Fehrman earned the win.

Tigerton’s Hayden Harris took the loss on the mound.

Caroline 12

Leopolis 1

Caroline rolled to a season-opening win over Leopolis on May 9 in Leopolis.

Erik Kroening and Tyler Marquardt each recorded three hits for Caroline in the win, while Presley Rosenow and Aaron Hoffman had two hits each. Bryson Bernarde picked up the win.

Kyler Deruchowski was dealt the loss for Leopolis.

Clintonville 5

Neopit 2

Clintonville snuck past Neopit in a May 9 game in Neopit.

Hunter Vollmer earned the win for Clintonville.

Northern Division

Eland 17

Hatley 5

Eland moved to 2-0 on the young season after taking down Hatley on May 9 in Hatley.

Jarrod Richter tallied three hits to lead Eland offensively, while Ryan Hubacek added two hits. Jeremy Jensen earned the win after pitching four innings.

Lucas Strick suffered the loss after working 2 2/3 innings for Hatley. Jeremy Schmidt and Tanner Kocher had two hits each.

Antigo/Polar 10

Aniwa 8

Antigo/Polar earned its first win after defeating Aniwa on May 9 in Antigo.

AJ Kirsch had three hits, including a double, to lead Antigo/Polar at the plate. Jed Weix had a pair of hits, while Blake Below earned the win on the hill.

Garrett Held homered, while Nolan Hoppe had two hits for Aniwa. Kody Szews was dealt the loss.

Birnamwood 13

Elderon 3

Birnamwood improved to 2-0 after a convincing win over Elderon on May 9 in Elderon.

Jason Rieck, Zach Bembenek and Logan Thiex all homered and had two hits for Birnamwood. Erik Steigerwald and Shane Herb each added two hits.

Erik Steigerwald also picked up the win for Birnamwood.

Troy Leiskau had two hits, including a home run, for Elderon, while Brandon Groshek also finished with two hits. Trevor Groshek suffered the loss.

South Central Division

Plover 9

Weymont 1

Plover earned its first win after downing Weymont on May 9 in Plover.

Kevin Jastromski had three hits and scored twice to lead Plover, while Cam Stampfl, Nate Jackan and Jason Jones all chipped in two hits. Jake Dreves was the winning pitcher.

Alex Niles finished with two hits for Weymont in the loss. Trevor Wetzel was the losing pitcher.

Green Lake 6

New London 1

Green Lake opened its season with a victory over New London on May 9 in New London.
