Q: When did your interest in track and field begin?

A: I decided to try track and field in seventh grade because I tried softball the previous year and didn’t like it.

Q: What is your favorite part about the track and field season?

A: My favorite part about the track and field season is improving in my events and meeting new people.

Q: What is your favorite event to compete in, and why?

A: My favorite event to compete in is shot put because it’s the first event I ever tried and it’s the event that made me fall in love with the sport.

Q: In order to end the season strong and then advance in the postseason, what do you need to do personally?

A: I need to keep practicing and trying to perfect my technique as much as I can before the postseason begins.

Q: As a thrower on the team, how did you prepare for the season?

A: In preparation for the season I worked out during the summer along with playing volleyball to keep myself in shape.

Q: With it being your senior season and the season lasting longer than usual, how do you plan to stay engaged and focused as the regular season winds down and the postseason nears?

A: I plan to stay engaged by continuing to attend practice and just giving it everything I have until my senior season comes to an end.

Q: Before a meet begins, do you have any rituals you go through?

A: I don’t really have any rituals before a meet, but before I throw I have to tap each heel on the toe board twice.

Q: What is your favorite memory of competing on the Menominee Indian track and field team?

A: My favorite memory is probably when we would stop to eat after long meets and just have fun as a team.

Q: Favorite TV show, movie and musical artist?

A: TV show — “Criminal Minds.” Movie — “The Sandlot.” Musical artist — I listen to a variety of music so I don’t really have a favorite.

Q: Name one thing about yourself that not many people know?

A: I am actually a very shy person when it comes to meeting new people. Track has helped me branch out a lot since my freshman year.

Q: What’s the greatest piece of advice you have ever been told?

A: Always compete against yourself. As long as you’re improving, that’s all that matters.

Q: What are some things you hope to accomplish in the coming years?

A: Some things I hope to accomplish in the next few years are to continue my education and hopefully compete in track and field at the collegiate level.
