Area track and field sectional qualifiers

Suring girls, Lena boys, Oconto Falls teams win regional titles

Area track and field teams started postseason action at regional meets on May 22, with many individuals and relay teams qualifying for sectionals.

Pulaski and Shawano competed in Division 1 regionals. Menominee Indian, Oconto Falls and Wittenberg-Birnamwood were at a Division 2 regional, while Bonduel, Gillett, Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy, Suring, Wolf River Lutheran, Gresham/Bowler and Marion all competed in Division 3 regionals.

To advance to sectionals, individuals or relay teams had to place in the top four.

Here is a list of individuals and relay teams that qualified for sectionals, events they advanced in, places they took and the times or distances/heights they achieved:

Shawano

• Adalyn Barkley: first in triple jump (34 feet, 5¼ inches); second in 400 (1 minute, 1.53 seconds); fourth in 200 (27.34).

• Grace Chelberg: third in 800 (2:20.67).

• Lily Guenther: second in 3,200 (11:51.23).

• Tela Hopfensperger: fourth in 300 hurdles (50.0).

• Maci Beyer, Natalie Bystol, Onna Hermann, Tela Hopfensperger: fourth in girls 4x200 relay (1:51.93).

• Adalyn Barkley, Grace Chelberg, Lily Guenther, Bailey Hendricks: first in girls 4x800 relay (9:47.27).

• Onna Hermann: first in pole vault (9-6).

• Macey Nelson: fourth in long jump (15-7).

• Ethan Onesti: fourth in 800 (2:02.84).

• Will Chelberg: fourth in 3,200 (10:28.96).

• Jaymin Boivin, Drake Herm, Brandon Reed, Logan Korth: fourth in boys 4x400 relay (3:36.06).

• Jaymin Boivin, Will Chelberg, Aidan Preston, Ethan Onesti: second in boys 4x800 relay (8:34.11).

The Shawano girls team accumulated 90 points and placed fifth. The Shawano boys earned 40½ points and placed seventh.

Pulaski

• Hallie Morz: fourth in pole vault (10-6).

• Jack Marsh: first in discus (171-8); fourth in shot put (47-8¼).

• Ella Ficarri: third in 100 hurdles (16.6); fourth in long jump (15-11¾).

• Madden Skenadore: second in 300 hurdles (41.22); third in 110 hurdles (15.7).

• Olivia Sprangers: first in 200 (26.33); third in 100 (12.93).

• Charlie Schuster: fourth in 100 (11.78).

• Rachael Allen, Lily Urben, Grace Goodness, Olivia Sprangers: second in girls 4x200 relay (1:47.62).

• Ella Hasser: fourth in 400 (1:04.27).

• Rachael Allen, Faye Brunke, Ava Vieaux, Anna Friedman: second in girls 4x100 relay (51.59).

• Lily Urben: fourth in 300 hurdles (49.79).

• Emerson Fabry: fourth in 3,200 (12:15.48).

• Ella Hasser, Rachael Allen, Grace Goodness, Lily Urben: third in girls 4x400 relay (4:15.29).

The Pulaski girls team scored 91 points to finish fourth at the regional, while the boys team placed fifth with 62½ points.

Witt-Birn

• Reese Rogowski: first in 100 (12.74), 200 (26.06), 400 (1:00.97) and long jump (16-8½).

• Faith Resch: first in 300 hurdles (47.19); second in high jump (5-0); third in 100 hurdles (17.0).

• Allison Linke: third in 300 hurdles (50.27); fourth in 100 hurdles (17.23).

• Alex Centeno: third in 400 (54.02).

• Relay: third in boys 4x400 (3:47.67).

• Relay: second in boys 4x800 (8:58.43).

The Witt-Birn girls scored 76 points and placed fifth as a team, while the boys accumulated 25 points and took eighth.

Oconto Falls

• Brynn Hodkiewicz: third in 400 (1:08.78).

• Brooke Hodkiewicz: first in 800 (2:27.54); second in 1,600 (5:33.97).

• Hailey Delzer: second in 3,200 (13:09.73).

• Brailyn St. Louis: first in high jump (5-2); second in 100 hurdles (16.85).

• Josie Saari: fourth in 300 hurdles (52.1).

• Relay: second in girls 4x100 (53.32).

• Relay: first in girls 4x400 (4:29.86).

• Relay: first in girls 4x800 (11:01.87).

• Abby Budz: third in triple jump (30-1).

• Morgan Moynihan: second in discus (92-3); third in shot put (31-2).

• Grace Molitor: fourth in shot put (30-4¾).

• Ava Hodkiewicz: third in discus (90-4).

• Isaac Bramer: third in 200 (23.97).

• Evan Yuma: fourth in 400 (54.09).

• Ben Adams: first in 3,200 (10:16.92).

• Alex Haines: third in high jump (5-8); fourth in 110 hurdles (17.52).

• Emerich Skarban: fourth in 300 hurdles (46.45).

• Relay: first in boys 4x100 (45.69).

• Relay: third in boys 4x200 (1:39.08).

• Relay: third in boys 4x800 relay (9:04).

• Devon Dorn: second in long jump (19-10½).

• Brady Bursa: third in triple jump (38-5½).

The Oconto Falls girls won the regional title with 150 points. The boys team also won a regional title, tallying 121 points.

Menominee Indian

• Urijah Reevis: fourth in 800 (2:35.92).

• Relay: third in girls 4x100 (53.5).

• Relay: second in girls 4x200 (1:52.78).

• Emma Komanekin: first in triple jump (31-10); third in long jump (15-1½).

• Ali Davenport: first in 100 (11.39) and 200 (22.99); fourth in long jump (18-9).

• Barron Waupoose: second in 400 (52.48) and triple jump (38-9); fourth in 800 (2:08.57).

• Relay: third in boys 4x100 (47.25).

• Kenew Awonohopay: fourth in triple jump (37-4¾).

The Menominee Indian boys and girls teams each placed seventh at the regional, tallying 57 and 44 points, respectively.

Bonduel

• Ryan Westrich: first in shot put (47-8); fourth in discus (116-9).

• Josie Anvelink: third in shot put (32-3).

• Rachyl Hutter: fourth in shot put (32-1).

• Kendra Troxel, Ashlyn Kurey, Cierra Schnell, Mariah Wondra: first in girls 4x800 relay (10:32.98).

• Josie Anvelink, Kendra Troxel, Karlee Ziemer, Anna Beaumier: third in girls 4x200 relay (1:54.96).

• Sam Roberts, Karter Schroeder, Ryan Westrich, Louis Hrabik: first in boys 4x200 relay (1:37.27).

• Karter Schroeder, Jonathan Armour, Josiah Basten, Ayden Dunst: second in boys 4x400 relay (3:42.57).

• Karter Schroeder: first in high jump (6-2).

• Sam Roberts: second in long jump (19-4).

• Will Bloedorn: third in shot put (43-11).

• Ashlyn Kurey: third in triple jump (32-1½) and 800 (2:39.18).

• Ayden Dunst, Dameon Huben, Parker Perry, Ben O'Brien: second in boys 4x800 relay (9:10.28).

• Ben O'Brien: third in 3,200 (10:52.81).

• Parker Perry: fourth in 800 (2:08.7).

The Bonduel boys accumulated 106 points to place second at the regional. The girls team earned third with 77 points.

Gillett

• Kasey Hansen, Lily Hansen, Carleigh Kaczmarek, Sophia Limberg: first in girls 4x800 relay (11:31.58).

• Alex Peterson: first in 1,600 (4:34.89) and 3,200 (10:29.07).

• Carleigh Kaczmarek: second in 3,200 (12:59.75).

• Evan Peterson, Bradyn Wendorff, Ben Matczak, Alex Peterson: first in boys 4x800 relay (8:29.65).

• Kasey Hansen: third in 1,600 (6:20.43).

• Evan Peterson: second in 800 (2:05.59).

• Bradyn Wendorff: third in 800 (2:08.36).

The Gillett boys placed sixth at the regional with 60 points, while the girls took 10th with 37 points.

Lena/STAA

• Eva Brooks: second in triple jump (32-7); tied for second in high jump (5-4); fourth in 100 hurdles (17.44) and 300 hurdles (53.09).

• Alabama Lambert: third in long jump (16-2); fourth in 100 (13.82).

• Dylan Comins: fourth in pole vault (10-6).

• Lucas Heimke: first in long jump (19-5); second in triple jump (39-8).

• Zander Thomson: second in high jump (5-8); third in 110 hurdles (17.4); fourth in 300 hurdles (45.16).

• Sam Marquardt: first in 100 (11.7) and 200 (23.71).

• Claire Brooks, Kaelyn Cook, Karli Fischer, Alabama Lambert: fourth in girls 4x200 relay (2:06.2).

• Robert Alberts, Reed Hosking, Calvin Peters, Tyler Shallow: fourth in boys 4x200 relay (1:43.33).

• Della Kostreva: third in 400 (1:09.64); fourth in triple jump (30-10).

• Karli Fischer, Kate Peters, Della Kostreva, Sophia Pirlot: fourth in girls 4x400 relay (4:49.45).

• Dylan Comins, Zander Thomson, Lucas Heimke, Sam Marquardt: first in boys 4x400 relay (3:41.66).

• Anthony Seefeldt: second in shot put (45-9).

The Lena/STAA boys scored 111 points to win the regional title. The girls team tallied 81 points and claimed second.

Suring

• Christine Sleeter: first in high jump (5-5) and pole vault (9-0).

• Olivia Noack, Hailey Thomson, Georgia Gerndt, Ginger Gerndt: second in girls 4x800 relay (11:04.68).

• Trent Van Den Elzen: third in 300 hurdles (44.59); fourth in 110 hurdles (17.61).

• Lily Hakes, Lillie Taylor, Christine Sleeter, Ginger Gerndt: first in girls 4x200 relay (1:53.53).

• Quinn Thomson: first in 400 (54.33).

• Lily Hakes, Lillie Taylor, Ginger Gerndt, Bunny Cramer: fourth in girls 4x100 relay (56.32).

• Birdee Cramer: second in 300 hurdles (52.7); third in pole vault (7-0).

• Hailey Thomson: third in 3,200 (13:25.35).

• Olivia Noack, Georgia Gerndt, Christine Sleeter, Lily Hakes: second in girls 4x400 relay (4:30.93).

• Macie Reed: second in discus (98-6).

• Ginger Gerndt: fourth in pole vault (7-0).

• Olivia Noack: second in 800 (2:36.58).

The Suring girls team won the regional title with 117 points. The boys team placed ninth with 39½ points.

Wolf River Lutheran

Wolf River Lutheran did not have any individuals or relays qualify for sectionals.

The WRL boys scored eight points to place 12th. The girls team did not earn any points.

Gresham/Bowler

• Emmitt Kietlinski: first in triple jump (42-10¾) and high jump (6-5).

The Gresham/Bowler boys scored 21 points and placed ninth, while the girls co-op tallied 11 points and placed 10th.

Marion

Marion did not have any individuals or relays qualify for sectionals.

The Mustangs did not earn any points on the boys or girls side.
