The Marion High School softball team had three players earn spots on Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division all-conference teams after the spring season wrapped up.
Junior Ashley Fischer, freshman Morgan Schwartz and sophomore Dacotah Yonker were the Mustangs recognized.

Fischer, who pitched along with spending time at first and third base, made the first team.

“Personally, when I had been named to the all-conference first team, I was very shocked,” said Fischer. “As a freshman getting second team, all of sophomore year without a season into my junior year, I had to show all the work that I had put in during the offseason to better myself to get past the second team award. I don’t think I could’ve gotten the award without my teammates giving me the support of my change of positions this season.

“This award gives me a lot of motivation moving forward and also shows me I have a lot of work to do in order to be even better. I just have to stay focused and keep working hard to show that the awards I have received were truly meant for me. We have a big season ahead of us next year, and I’m super excited to see what all of us do in the offseason to come out strong!”

Schwartz landed on the second team in her first season of high school ball. She also pitched and played first base for Marion.

Yonker landed on the honorable mention list in what was also her first season on the varsity team. She served as the team’s catcher.

Marion won two of its eight conference games this spring.
