Pulaski tennis team loses to Bay Port

Bay Port 6, Pulaski 1

Pulaski’s No. 3 singles player Isabella Skalecki collected the only win for the Red Raiders in a 6-1 loss to Bay Port. Skalecki defeated Lilly Jensen in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.

Anna Krause, at No. 4 singles, lost in three sets 6-4, 0-6, 10-6. The No. 2 doubles team of Ayla Groteluschen and Linde Lemerond also lost in three sets 6-4, 2-6, 10-3.

At No. 3 doubles, Hailey Jansen and Gretchen Rottier lost in a pair of very close sets 7-5, 7-6 (5).

Waupoose wins Oconto Invite

Oconto Invitational

Menominee Nation’s Bryant Waupoose III won the Oconto Invitational boys race in 17:52.9, with teammate Ryan Corn just seven seconds behind him with a second-place time of 17:59.9.

Another teammate, Jason Chapman, placed 10th in 18:57.2. Francis Delabrue finished in 19th place in 19:39.1.

Quinn Olson was 26th, and Michael Peters was 27th, separated by 0.4 seconds. Cashius Reevis placed 29th, Cody Peters was 63rd and Louis Kakkak placed 66th.

Panthers advance to golf sectionals

Division 2 Luxemburg-Casco Regional

Oconto Falls golfers placed third and Bonduel was fifth at Northbrook Golf & Grill in Luxemburg.

The Seymour team won with a 387. The Panthers scored 419, and the Bears tallied 452. Oconto Falls will advance to sectional play as a team.

Scoring for Oconto Falls were Taylor Miller with a 95, Olivia Wagner with a 96, Ava Salscheider with a 105 and Kylie Thompson with a 123.

Addy Kluth scored a 124.

De Gaspari scores five goals as Shawano clobbers Menasha on soccer field

Shawano put together a brilliant performance in defeating Menasha in another conference matchup. This win propels Shawano into the top four with a birth into the conference tournament. Goals were aplenty for the Hawks. Ruben De Gaspari put in five goals in the first half. Anderson Schmidt also put in one goal in the first half and then paired it with a second after halftime.

Tigerton shuts down Bowler on volleyball court

Tigerton 3, Bowler 1

Tigerton defeated Bowler in a close home match with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 19-25 and 25-19.

Sienna Breaker led the Tigers with 19 digs. Jade Selle notched 14; Aaliyah Lederhaus had 13, and Danika Tiller and Lillian Welch had 10 each.

Tiller led with 18 assists.

Presley Stewart-Rolfs tallied 10 kills, while Selle had seven and Lederhaus had five.

Port Edwards 50, Marion/Tigerton 22

Port Edwards started scoring in the first quarter and didn’t let up until the final buzzer as they put a damper on Marion/Tigerton’s homecoming with a 50-22 win.

Port Edwards was up 34-0 before Braylon Mielke scored on a 2-yard run to make the score 34-8 at halftime.

Then, down 42-8 in the third quarter, Mielke scored again, this time on a 48-yard run. That was followed by a 23-yard touchdown pass from Joey Zimdars to Logan Zietlow to make it 42-22.

Chargers place fourth at Eau Claire North

Husky Invite

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s swimmers captured fourth place out of 11 teams at Eau Claire North.

The Chargers collected 173 points. Wausau West won the invite with 282 points.

After the 1-meter diving event, Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Kelsie Davis, Reese Dickman, Faith Resch and Olivia Bessette won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:58.77. Teammates Addison Schmid, Chloe Hanson, Rylee Crick and Claire Timm placed 11th in 2:21.63.

WIAA approves lacrosse realignment fast track

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association board of control approved a limited number of action items, and received customary executive staff and liaison reports at its September meeting.

A conference realignment fast track recommendation that merges the Fox River Classic and Fox River Valley Conference for lacrosse was approved.
