Packers Everywhere set to host free pep rally in Denver

Packers fans are invited to bring the spirit of Green Bay to Denver a day early with a free Packers Everywhere pep rally at 6 p.m. MDT on Oct. 21.

The festivities will take place at Tom’s Watch Bar, 1601 19th St., Unit 100, Denver. Pre-rally festivities and prizing will begin at 4 p.m.

One of the positives surrounding the Green Bay Packers this year has been the youth on the team.

The average age of the team currently sits at 25, and while that is exciting for the future, there can be growing pains. Those growing pains reared their ugly head in Green Bay’s 25-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons in week two. The quarterback and the center not being on the same page, defensive breakdowns and untimely penalties proved to be major turning points for the Packers, as the team blew a 12-point fourth-quarter lead against Atlanta.

The Green Bay Packers are 1-1 after a disappointing loss to the Atlanta Falcons, in a game where they led by 12 points in the second half.

After taking a 24-12 lead, the Packers would not gain another first down, and the Falcons outscored them 13-0 in the fourth quarter.

Instead of winning and getting to 2-0, the Packers are now entering their home opener at 1-1 against a Saints team that is 2-0 after its 20-17 Monday night win over Carolina.

The Packers and Saints have locked horns frequently during the Aaron Rodgers era, where he was often opposed by Drew Brees.

Jordan Love backed up his debut in Chicago with another strong performance on the road against the Atlanta Falcons. Love was only 14-25, but threw three more touchdown passes to get the team a 24-12 lead. Unfortunately, Love’s first sign of growing pains surfaced as he and the offense failed to pick up a first down in the fourth quarter, and the Packers squandered a double-digit lead.

A 12-point fourth-quarter lead was not enough for the Green Bay Packers, as the Atlanta Falcons ripped off 13 unanswered points to hand Green Bay its first loss of the season.

The 25-24 Sept. 17 loss drops Green Bay to 1-1 on the season, but with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears all losing this week, the Packers stay atop the division.

The Green Bay Packers are off and running after a dominant 38-20 win over the Chicago Bears in the season opener.

The Packers had what could be argued as their best game in all three phases over the last two years during the game. Jordan Love was solid in his debut, throwing three touchdown passes. Aaron Jones made two huge plays in the passing game.

The defense suffocated Justin Fields and a new-look Bears offense, and the special teams were solid.
