Carol Jean “Cj” Townsend, 71, of rural Luxemburg, passed away after an illness of several months on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence, as her husband, Warren, read Matthew 22:34-40 to her. She was born March 9, 1952, in Appleton to Loren and Ruth (Mullenbach) Luedeke of Hilbert. She was “Little Red” to her father’s Big Red, and in later years she was just Red in Warren’s newspaper columns and blogs.

John Henry Heck, 68, passed away June 28, 2023. John is the son of the late Harvey and Velda (Morrow) Heck. John was born on March 10, 1955, in Shawano. John was born with cerebral palsy and was confined to a wheelchair most of his life. This did not stop John from living a fulfilling life.

Dr. Douglas L. Cook, DDS, 92, of Suring, died June 15, 2023, in Green Bay, after a short illness. Dr. Cook was born October 22, 1930, to Dr. Irving and Irene Cook of Gillett. Following graduation from Gillett High School, Dr. Cook attended Marquette School of Dentistry. Upon graduation from Marquette, Dr. Cook enlisted in the United States Air Force.
