Dejon Lou Polzin

Dejon Lou (Goddake) Polzin, 92, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at Care Partners Assisted Living in Clintonville, where she had resided for nearly four years.

Born in Bowler on June 13, 1932, Dejon was the youngest child of the late Evan and Gladys (Cronce) Goddake. She attended Bowler schools and was very involved in school and community activities, including 4-H and Future Homemakers of America. Her claim to fame as a high school student was winning the Shawano County cherry pie baking contest and placing fourth at the district contest in Green Bay.

Timothy E. Wanta, 71, of Bear Creek, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024.

Floyd Elmer Schmidt

Floyd E. Schmidt, 63, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, died at Birch Hill Health Center surrounded by family on Tuesday morning, Sept. 3, 2024.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1960, in Appleton, the son of Elmer L. Schmidt and Beverly A. (Wild) Schmidt. Floyd was raised on a dairy farm in Bonduel and attended Bonduel High School.

As a young man, he worked on the farm of Robert and Doris Spates in Landstad. There, he learned to drive straight trucks and semi-trailers. Floyd hauled hay from the farm to several western states from the ages of 18 to 21.

Ardella F. Weisnicht

Ardella F. Weisnicht, 88, of Shawano, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1935, in the Town of Angelica, daughter of the late Hilbert and Elsie (Sokja) Kroening. Ardella’s mother passed away when she was 18 months old, and she was raised by her Aunt Emma (Hoppe) Kuhn in Shawano. Nana stepped in as her mother, which was truly a blessing as she was nurtured and cared for.

Elaine J. Stage

Elaine J. Stage, 69, of Suring, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024.

Elaine was born on July 8, 1955, to the late Earl and Eunice (Firgens) School. She graduated from Suring High School with the class of 1973.

On June 28, 1974, Elaine married Stephen Stage at St. John Catholic Church in Gillett. The couple spent 36 loving years together before his passing on Dec. 5, 2010.

Elaine was a devoted mother and hardworking woman. She worked for Nu-Line and the canning factory before retiring from Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya after 10 years as camp manager.

David Marten

David L. Marten, age 83, of Tigerton, formerly of Cloverleaf Lakes, Clintonville, passed away with the comfort of family by his side early Wednesday morning, Aug. 28, 2024, at The Pines Post-Acute and Memory Care, Embarrass.

David “Dave” Leroy Marten was born May 20, 1941, in Mattoon, son to the late Edwin and Gladys (Glinske) Marten. He attended Mattoon schools where he played basketball.

Pam Jensen

Pam Leigh Jensen, of Kronenwetter, formerly of Shawano, lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024. Pam died in her home surrounded by her family and her beloved pets.

She was born Pam Leigh Teckam on June 25, 1954, in Omaha, Nebraska. Pam was the daughter of Marian (Foreman) Teckam of Shawano and the late Harven Teckam. Pam was united in marriage to the love of her life, Allen Lee Jensen, on July 9, 2007.

Duane P. Maas

Duane P. Maas, 79, of Mountain, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024.

Duane was born on Feb. 9, 1945, to the late Norbert and Gertrude (Jezeski) Maas in Milwaukee. He graduated from Central High School in West Allis and began a career in manufacturing as a machinist. Duane later retired from Eaton Corp.

On Nov. 4, 1967, Duane married Delight Wilson at St. Augustine Catholic Church in West Allis. In 2007, the couple moved to Mountain full time after previously living in the Milwaukee area.
