Donald “Don” L. Lehman, 93½, of the Town of Germania, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, at Evergreen Health Services in Shawano.

Donald Louis Lehman was born on Jan. 7, 1931, in Tigerton as the son of the late Paul and Mary (Prahl) Lehman. He grew up on the home farm in Germania, attended Hillside Grade School and graduated at the top of his class of 1948 from Tigerton High School.

Lee Allan Johnston, 84, passed away at his home in Oconto Falls on July 4, 2024.

Born Dec. 17, 1939, to Allan and Ruth (Erdman) Johnston, Lee grew up in Couillardville next to the Oconto River. He attended the one-room school in Couillardville and graduated from Oconto High School in 1958.

Robert ‘Bob’ L. Gerndt

Robert “Bob” L. Gerndt, 82, of Suring, passed away July 4, 2024, peacefully at home in the farmhouse where he was born and lived his entire life.

Bob was born June 7, 1942, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leland and Norma (Nelson) Gerndt of Suring.

Lawrence ‘Red’ Brenwall

Lawrence “Red” Brenwall, age 84, of Suring, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Serenity Gardens Assisted Living Center.

Red was born in Phelps on Aug. 6, 1939, to the late John and Leona (Van Houton) Brenwall, the oldest of four children. He graduated from Phelps High School and married Sandra Firgens on Nov. 3, 1962, at the Evangelical United Brethern Church in Hayes. The couple celebrated 52 years of marriage before Sandra’s passing in 2015.

Nansi Lee Casper (Miller), age 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born on May 3, 1954, in Tucson, Arizona, to Herbert and Carole Miller. The oldest of three children, she was an independent woman who paved her own way in the world. As part of a military family, she traveled often, eventually finding herself on a riverfront property in Oconto with a perfect yard for gardening and for raising her children.

Charles “Charlie” Hoernke, age 83, of Clintonville, passed away June 3, 2024, at his home with family by his side, after a brief battle with cancer.

Charles Clarence Hoernke was born on Feb. 7, 1941, in Clintonville, son to the late Leo J. and Esther I. (Koehler) Hoernke.

Charlie grew up on the family farm in Clintonville. Throughout his life, he had a love for hunting and also enjoyed woodworking and spending time in the outdoors. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to any project he had the skills for.

Barbara J. Engebretsen Buettner, age 80, of Gillett, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 28, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Barb was born on April 22, 1944. in Green Bay to the late Edwin and Gertrude (Wagner) Kallies. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pulcifer. Barb was a 1962 graduate of Gillett High School.

Lorraine I. Gentz

Lorraine Irene (Hoefs) Gentz, age 99, passed away Friday morning, June 28, 2024, at Serenity Gardens, Gillett.

She was born Jan. 7, 1925, to the late Harold (Harry) and Irene (Pitt) Hoefs at Zachow. She graduated from Shawano High School in 1943. On June 14, 1944, she married the love of her life, Morton Gentz at Zion Lutheran Church, Zachow.

She was employed by Pauly Cheese Co. in Zachow. She and her husband worked for Red Owl Stores and later they co-owned and operated Gentz’s Flowers and Greenhouses in Gillett.
