Dorothy L. Szutkowski

Dorothy Szutkowski passed peacefully at Homme Home of Wittenberg on Oct. 3, 2024.

Dorothy was born Sept. 24, 1934, to Reuben and Flossie Kerstner of Bowler. She married Edward Szutkowski of Eland in November 1952. Ed and Dorothy farmed and raised seven children in Eland.

After farming, Ed and Dorothy continued to keep busy working outside of the home, with Dorothy enjoying her many years of service at Homme Home in Wittenberg.

After retiring, Dorothy enjoyed her church group, many hobbies and always caring for those who needed her.

Randall Carthrae Rasmussen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Randall Carthrae Rasmussen, a cherished father, grandfather and husband, who left us peacefully on Sept. 30, 2024. A dedicated chiropractor and a passionate artist, Randy touched the lives of many with his compassionate care and creative spirit.

An avid golfer, Randy found joy in the game and treasured the moments spent on the course, especially with his son, where he exemplified sportsmanship and integrity. His love for nature was evident in his daily walks with his beloved dog.

Donald R. Birr

Donald Robert Birr, 94, Oconto Falls, passed away at home on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1930, in Green Bay. On Aug. 31, 1957, Donald married Helen Tajak at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Sobieski. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Donald worked at the Post Office in Oconto Falls for 30 years, from 1960-90.

Donald and Helen also operated a farm in the Town of Morgan. He was a member of American Legion Post 337, AMVETS Post 160 and the PLAV, all in Pulaski. Donald enjoyed trips to casinos, playing cards and shaking dice.

Nicolas A. Rydell

Nicolas Anthony Rydell, age 43, of Madison, passed away on Sept. 23, 2024.

He was born on April 28, 1981, in Shawano, the son of Ann Rydell and Ted Rydell. He grew up in Shawano next to Forest Haven Park.

Nick graduated from Shawano High School in 1999. He went on to earn degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Minnesota Law School. Most recently, he worked as an appellate attorney for the State of Wisconsin.

Randy D. Kratz

Randy David Kratz passed away unexpectedly Oct. 2, 2024.

Randy was born June 9, 1959, to Norman and Beverly Kratz (Everard).

Randy graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1977. He proudly joined the Army from 1977-82, where he was honorably discharged as a sergeant. After returning to Oconto Falls, he started a family where he had Michael and Christopher. On July 12, 2003, he married Julie Montie.

Anton 'Tony' Boehm

Anton (Tony) William Boehm, 60, of Maplewood, Minnesota, passed away from glioblastoma on Sept. 20, 2024, at The Pillars Hospice, Oakdale, Minnesota.

A 1982 graduate of Shawano High School, he was elected sophomore class president and went on to take classes at the University of Wisconsin. He spent many years with his family skiing Big Powderhorn Mountain in Bessemer, Michigan, and fishing and swimming in Faulkner Lake in the Woodruff/Minocqua area of Wisconsin. Tony loved a deep discussion, thinking outside the box and often elicited a laugh with his dry sense of humor.

Alfonso Zaddack

Alfonso L. Zaddack, 84, of Shawano, passed away on Sept. 26, 2024, at his home with his loving wife by his side.

Alfonso was born June 3, 1940, in Shawano, the son of the late Alfred and Alice (Buettner) Zaddack. He attended Gresham High School and graduated with the class of 1959. Following high school, Alfonso farmed the family homestead with his father, Alfred.

Betty R. Walker

Betty Ruth Walker, 93, of Birnamwood, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at Eastview Nursing Home in Antigo.

Betty was born on Oct. 19, 1930, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Rudolph and Adeline (Falaas) Fischer. Betty married Peter Frank Ridosko in 1951. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1977. Later in life, she married Thomas Ray Walker, who also preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 2003.

Randal L. Block

Randal L. Block, 83, of Ripon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at Maplecrest Manor in Ripon, with his loving family by his side.

Randy was born in Tomahawk on July 17, 1941, son of Benjamin and Anna (Luckjohn) Block. He graduated from Wittenberg High School and went on to earn a degree at Wausau Technical Institute. On Dec. 2, 1961, he married Jeneene Bloecher in Wittenberg.
