The following local students are among the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater scholarship recipients receiving financial awards for the 2025-26 academic year

Evan Yuma, Oconto Falls, who is studying Finance, won the Karl E Fraedrich-Admissions and Chancellor Scholars.

Lauren Brovold, Bonduel, who is studying marketing, won the Rising Warhawk Scholarship.

Sacred Heart Catholic School in Shawano recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of its students who earned a place on the honor roll for the first quarter of the 2025-26 school year. I came across a humorous story about an atheist professor who was in the woods admiring the magnificence of evolution when a grizzly bear came charging out of the bushes. The professor ran for his life until he tripped and fell. As the bear was about to attack, the terrified professor cried out, “Oh my God, help me!”
