Pulaski, Menominee Indian, Bonduel moving on in tournament

Pulaski, Menominee Indian and Bonduel are among the six teams still alive at a multi-day tournament in Clintonville.

Pulaski suffered a 15-5 loss to Clintonville on June 23 in Clintonville for its first loss of the tournament. Menominee Indian fended off elimination after topping Wrightstown 4-2 on June 23 in New London, while Bonduel defeated Wittenberg-Birnamwood 7-1 in an elimination game on June 23 in New London.

Pulaski 11

Wrightstown 6

Pulaski rallied past Wrightstown in a tournament game on June 22 in Clintonville. Pulaski scored twice in the third inning to tie the game before putting together a seven-run fourth frame.

Brayden Otto drove in three runs on three hits and scored twice to lead Pulaski offensively. He also stole two bases.

Jonah Klingeisen scored three runs and also recorded three hits, while Michael Molthen and Gavin Ostrenga had two hits each.

Pulaski 16

Green Bay 11

Pulaski won a high-scoring contest against Green Bay on June 21 in Green Bay. Pulaski rallied from an early six-run deficit and scored four runs in the sixth and seventh frames to pull away.

Kyle Olson and Gavin Ostrenga drove in three runs each for Pulaski, while Logan Hochevar and Mason Petzel drove in two each. Jonah Klingeisen, Hochevar, Olson and Ostrenga finished with two hits each.

Shawano 17

Bay Port 3 (6 inn.)

Shawano routed Bay Port in a June 20 matchup in Green Bay.

Ashton Henning led the way for Shawano, tallying four hits and four RBIs while also scoring three times. He doubled twice and hit two home runs. Both homers came during a 10-run sixth inning.

Ahnapee 4

Shawano cruised past Ahnapee in its second game of a tournament in Waupun on June 18.

Zac Jurmu led the offensive charge for Shawano with four hits, three RBIs and two runs scored. Andrew Popp tallied three hits and two RBIs, while Braedyn Kowalkowski had two RBIs and two hits.

Bryce Popp scored three runs for Shawano, while Carson Herm and Ashton Henning scored twice each.

Shawano 16

Hartford 2 (5 inn.)

Shawano routed Hartford during a Waupun Tournament game on June 17 in Waupun.

Ashton Henning and Andrew Popp each drove in three runs on three hits to lead Shawano at the plate. Carson Popp drove in two runs on four hits and Carsen Herm had two RBIs on two hits.

Zac Jurmu and Henning scored three runs, while Carson Popp, Bryce Popp and Braedyn Kowalkowski scored twice each. Shawano scored nine runs in the second inning and five more in the fourth.

Witt-Birn Legion splits games with Omro

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood Legion baseball team split a pair of games against Omro on June 16 in Wittenberg, winning game one 9-7 in seven innings before falling 4-0 in a pre-determined, five-inning game two.

The two games were almost polar opposites for the Witt-Birn offense.

In game one, the team posted six hits to go along with eight walks. In game two, Witt-Birn had just three hits and three walks.

Clintonville 0

Shawano scored in five of seven innings while cruising to a win over Clintonville on June 14 in Clintonville.

Tom Keszo drove in four runs on three hits to power Shawano at the plate. Bryce Popp drove in two runs, while Zac Jurmu and Andrew Popp had two hits each.

Carson Popp, Ashton Henning, Jacob Polzin and Andrew Popp all scored two runs. Shawano walked nine times and posted 12 hits.

Oconto Falls 1

Shawano built a 3-0 lead after two innings and took down Oconto Falls on June 9 in Oconto Falls.

Carson Popp, Andrew Popp and Braedyn Kowalkowski each drove in a run for Shawano. Zac Jurmu and Ashton Henning tallied two hits and scored two runs each.

Brady Glysch earned the win after allowing a run over five innings. Jacob Polzin got the save after working two scoreless frames.
