Cold coffee is not just for summer

I was drinking cold coffee before iced coffee was even cool.

Full disclosure here, I never mean to drink cold coffee. It just seems to work out that way.

When I worked at the Mall of America, the shop next door sold hot, fresh coffee. I like mine with cream — not to cool it off, but because I like the way it tastes.

Editor’s Note: The Enterprise & News recently chatted with Karsyn Delforge about her Spanish language immersion experience this summer. She’ll be a senior at Wittenberg-Birnamwood High School this fall and is the daughter of Andy and Stacey Delforge of Birnamwood.

Q: What did you do this summer?
A: Through a Study Programs International trip, I spent a month in San Sebastian, Spain, participating in a Spanish language immersion program. I had done some research online and felt that SPI offered the best experience for me.

Summer school is in full swing as some Shawano County students forgo lengthy summer vacations in favor of continuing to learn. Bonduel School District opted to run its own summer school program this year rather than bus students to Shawano, as had been done in previous years. “It’s more for convenience for families,” said Peggy Jones, Bonduel Elementary School principal.

Summertime speeds by too quickly

Believe it or not, the calendar is about to turn to July, with the Fourth of July right around the corner. Where did June go? I have been wondering why May seemed to drag by for me, but June has flown past so fast that it is hard to believe. Sure, there is different work with the yard needing attention, and there has already been a family reunion. The weather has been wet, sometimes cool and wet, and other times humid and wet. Rain has been in the forecast on a daily basis, and farmers are having a hard time getting their hay harvested.
