Menominee Indian's Moss 1st at cross-country invitational

Menominee Indian High School's Isaiah Moss took first at the Marion Invitational on Oct. 4 in Marion, completing the course in 19 minutes, 52 seconds.

Moss was one of four individuals from Menominee Indian in action. Marion and Gresham/Bowler also had individual runners competing.

Francis Delabrau (21:36) placed eighth for Menominee Indian, while Lloyd Reevis (22:00) and Barron Waupoose (22:00) claimed 12th, and 13th, respectively.

Bonduel girls 2nd at cross-country invite

The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team posted a score of 47 to take second place at the Rosholt Invite on Sept. 30 in Rosholt.

The Bonduel girls only finished behind Amherst (27). Individual runners from Marion, Menominee Indian and Wittenberg-Birnamwood also took part in the girls race.

The Witt-Birn boys claimed fifth place with a score of 141. Menominee Indian (165) was seventh and Bonduel (172) was eighth. Marion also had individual runners in action.

Bonduel girls cross-country team wins Eagle Invite

The Bonduel High School girls cross-country team posted a score of 28 to win the Eagle Invite on Sept. 21 in Keshena.

Suring’s Olivia Noack was the top finisher in the girls race, helping her team come in second. Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy took fifth.

Bonduel’s Cooper Uelmen was the first-place finisher in the boys race, with the Bears taking sixth as a team. Menominee Indian took third, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood was fourth and Lena/STAA fifth.

Gresham/Bowler and Marion also had individual runners compete at the invite.

Shawano boys 4th, girls 6th at home cross-country invitational

The Shawano Community High School boys and girls cross-country teams turned in strong finishes at a loaded Shawano Invitational on Sept. 11 in Shawano.

The Shawano boys placed fourth overall with a team score of 121, while the girls came in sixth with 184 points. Against other Division 2 schools, the Shawano boys claimed second, while the girls were fourth.

Leading the Shawano boys on the course was Ethan Onesti, who completed the course in 16 minutes, 59.8 seconds for an eighth-place finish overall.

The Shawano Community High School boys cross-country team posted a score of 60 to place first at the Chargers Invitational on Sept. 7 in Wittenberg.

The Shawano girls team came in second with a score of 56, while the Bonduel girls were third with a mark of 92. Witt-Birn (233) placed 10th.

Back on the boys side, Witt-Birn (187) took seventh, while Bonduel (196) was eighth. Menominee Indian (226) placed 11th.

Individual athletes from Gresham/Bowler and Marion also competed at the invitational.

Noack leads Suring girls at cross-country invite

Suring High School's Olivia Noack posted a time of 21 minutes, 23.65 seconds to lead the girls cross-country team at the T-Bird Invitational on Aug. 31 in Iola.

The Suring girls ended up placing eighth at the invite with a score of 230. The Bonduel girls were seventh with a mark of 166, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood took 10th with a score of 283. Marion and Menominee Indian had individual girls runners in action.

Marion’s Stuhr named baseball Player of Year in CWC-North

The Marion High School baseball team tied for second place in the Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division this spring and had six players honored for their play after the season wrapped up.

Sophomore Jaden Stuhr was named the conference’s Player of the Year, while junior Alex Zimmerman also made the first team. Senior Carter Goke landed on the second team, while seniors Koy Brei and Myles Peterson and freshman Ryan Malueg were honorable mentions.

Stuhr had a impressive first season of high school ball at the plate and on the mound.

3 Marion softball players make all-conference teams

The Marion High School softball team had three players earn spots on Central Wisconsin Conference-North Division all-conference teams after the spring season wrapped up.
Junior Ashley Fischer, freshman Morgan Schwartz and sophomore Dacotah Yonker were the Mustangs recognized.

Fischer, who pitched along with spending time at first and third base, made the first team.
