Packers Offense vs. Titans Defense

Green Bay’s offense looked drastically different in their home opener than most people likely thought they would coming into the year.

They ran the ball 53 times for more than 200 yards in a 16-10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

That, of course, had largely to do with the fact that Jordan Love was sidelined with a knee injury.

It’s unclear if Love will return this week against the Titans.

If he’s not able to come back, it will be Malik Willis back in the lineup for his second start in Green Bay.

The Green Bay Packers are set to hit the road again for the second time this season.

This time, they’ll do so as winners, coming off a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts in their home opener.

Josh Jacobs and the ground game had a huge day, and backup quarterback Malik Willis did just enough in the passing game to get the Packers to squeak by with a victory.

The Tennessee Titans are 0-2 and likely to play desperate.

They’ve lost two games they could have easily won if a play or two went the other way.

The number one question throughout the Green Bay Packers offseason was who was going to back up Jordan Love this season. For the entire preseason, that battle was fought between incumbent Sean Clifford and seventh-round draft pick Michael Pratt out of Tulane.

That was until Aug. 26, when Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst traded the team’s upcoming seventh-round draft pick for Tennessee Titans backup quarterback Malik Willis.

Run game leads Love-less Packers to victory

With Jordan Love missing the home opener, it was Josh Jacobs and the running game that led Green Bay to a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2.

The Packers totaled 261 yards on 53 attempts on the ground, which totals the most rushing yards in a game by the Packers since 2003. Jacobs finished the game with 151 yards on 32 carries. The second leading rusher in the game for the Packers was Malik Willis, who filled in for the injured Love, totaling 41 rushing yards on six carries.

Narveson doesn’t let missed kicks get him down

Like quarterback Malik Willis, kicker Brayden Narveson played for the Tennessee Titans before signing with the Green Bay Packers.

In Willis’ case, backup QB Sean Clifford and draft pick Michael Pratt were both jettisoned, and Willis was traded for to fill the void. For Narveson, he was claimed off waivers after the Packers cut kicker Anders Carlson and just hours before Greg Joseph was shown the door.

The Green Bay Packers training camp opened July 22, and fans are invited to join the team at practice and enjoy a variety of activities to celebrate the return of football.

On July 27, families are invited to join the Packers and Bellin Health for the NFL’s Back Together Saturday initiative by enjoying the Bellin Health Training Camp Village, a fun- and health-focused event to be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Activities will take place in the U.S. Cellular Lot, the parking lot just east of Ray Nitschke Field.

Remmel’s story recalled as 100th birthday approaches

Lee Remmel had a strong hunch about Brett Favre becoming a star quarterback in the National Football League.

His confidence wasn’t so much due to Favre’s arm strength or the frenetic, ad-lib playmaking style that he displayed throughout his Hall of Fame career.

Remmel sensed a quiet fire simmering under Favre’s devil-may-care persona, one that would help him push through and endure in the NFL. Favre’s will to succeed, as Remmel saw it, was the thing that separated him from the field.

Packers Family Night set for Aug. 3

The Green Bay Packers announced that Packers Family Night, presented by Bellin Health will take place Saturday, Aug. 3. Now in its 23rd year, Family Night will serve as the introduction of the 2024 Green Bay Packers, in-person to a capacity crowd in Lambeau Field and on television to a state-wide audience.

Doors for the event will open at 5:30 p.m., with the team taking the field for warmups at 7 p.m. and practice beginning at 7:30 p.m.

NFL 2025 draft coming to Green Bay

The 2025 NFL draft will be held April 24-26 in and around Lambeau Field and Titletown.
