Bonduel 20

Shawano 11

Bonduel earned a high-scoring win over Shawano on May 19 in Shawano. Bonduel trailed 8-4 after five innings, but a six-run sixth inning, four-run seventh and two-run eighth and ninth helped the Broncos rally.

Chase Reinke and Eric Gruenwald each drove in three runs for Bonduel. Luke Kostreva tallied three hits, while Chase Reinke, Kostreva and Wyatt Reinke scored three times each.

Cecil 11

Hofa Park 8

Cecil topped Hofa Park in a high-scoring game on May 14 in Hofa Park.

Kenny Casper homered among his three hits and scored three runs for Cecil. Isaac Boldt added four hits, while Carter Weisnicht drove in three runs. Jordan Boldt and Isaac Boldt each scored three times, while Jacob Polzin drove in a pair.

Jordan Boldt earned the win after pitching 3⅔ innings. Brandon LaRue worked the final two innings. Noah Beilfuss started and worked 3⅓ innings.

Waupaca 6

Cecil 2

Waupaca opened Dairyland League play up with a win over Cecil on May 7 in Waupaca.

Jake Pankratz homered, drove in three runs and scored twice for Waupaca. Luke Behm tallied four hits for the Lakemen.

Cam Seidl got the win on the mound after pitching five innings and striking out eight batters. Jim Nighbor pitched two frames, while Jack Eagan and Luke Behm tossed an inning each.

BABA semifinal matchups set

The Badger Amateur Baseball Association and Dairyland League each continued postseason play on Aug. 21, with the BABA playing division finals, and Dairyland playing semifinal games.

Little Falls, Clintonville, Antigo/Polar and Scandinavia all earned wins in the BABA, while Waupaca and Hortonville advanced to the Dairyland Grand Championship.

BABA

Two of the four BABA division finals were won in walk-off fashion.

Bonduel 3

Cecil 2 (11 inn.)

Third-seeded Bonduel earned a walk-off win over sixth-seeded Cecil on Aug. 14 in Bonduel. Chase Reinke singled in Hunter Van Der Linden for the game-winning run.

Reinke also pitched all 11 innings to pick up the win on the mound. He struck out eight batters while throwing 157 pitches. Tucker Bouche was dealt the loss on the hill after taking over for Isaac Boldt, who pitched nine innings.

Reinke finished his day at the plate with two RBIs on two hits. Adam Frost also had two hits.

Dairyland, BABA playoff schedules set

The Dairyland League and Badger Amateur Baseball Association each begin postseason play on Aug. 14, and schedules are now set for each league.
All playoff games will be played at 1:30 p.m.

The Waupaca Lakemen won the Dairyland regular season title with a 13-1 record and are the No. 1 seeds. The Lakemen will host Hofa Park after the Panthers went 3-11 and finished eighth.

Cecil 11

Nichols 10 (10 inn.)

Grant Bouche drove in the game-winning run to cap Cecil’s high-scoring win over Nichols on Aug. 7 in Cecil. The Mudhens outhit the Nitros 17-12 in the contest.

Noah Beilfuss and Bouche led Cecil with three hits each. Isaac Boldt, Cole Anderson, Tucker Bouche and Greg Belongia each added two hits.

Beilfuss earned the win on the mound after pitching an inning. Joey Wagester was the losing pitcher.

Bonduel 5

Cecil 1

Bonduel took down Cecil in a July 31 matchup in Cecil. Bonduel scored once in the second inning and four more times in the third.

Chase Reinke earned the win for Bonduel after pitching all nine innings. He struck out four batters along the way.

Chase Reinke also tallied four of the team’s 11 hits. Jack Reinke tallied two hits, while Adam Frost drew three walks.

Jacob Polzin was the losing pitcher after working three innings. Noah Beilfuss tallied two of the team’s four hits.

Hofa Park wins Shawano Lobos Tournament

The Hofa Park Panthers won the Shawano Lobos Tournament that ran from July 25-29 after defeating the Navarino Rangers, Lobos and Cecil Mudhens.

Hofa Park opened the tournament with a 9-1 win over Navarino on July 25 before rolling to a 16-2 win in five innings over the Lobos on July 27. Hofa Park topped Cecil 7-3 in the championship game on July 29.

In the championship game, Eli Frank hit a grand slam in Hofa Park’s four-run fourth inning. Robert Schuettpelz, Marcus Hornacek and Frank scored two runs each for the Panthers.

Navarino 7

Cecil 3

Navarino toppled Cecil in a July 22 matchup in Navarino.

Ryan Boettcher earned the win for Navarino, striking out four batters over eight innings. Paul Sellner worked the last inning to seal up the win.

Navarino finished with 13 hits in the contest, with Bailey Dingeldein, Ben Prodell, Pat Wudtke and Mike Dingeldein tallying multiple hits.

Tucker Bouche took the loss on the mound while striking out six over 7⅓ innings. Noah Beilfuss tallied two hits to lead Cecil at the plate.
