Dairyland: Three winning teams blast opponents

Hofa Park 16, Navarino 5

Brinton Anderson collected three hits in four at bats, as the Hofa Park Panthers defeated the Navarino Rangers 16-5 on July 28 at Hofa Park.

Anderson doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and third innings.

The Panthers scored nine runs in the third inning on the way to victory. Kyle Olson singled, scoring one run; Ty Myers singled, scoring two runs; an error scored one run; Peyton Dorn singled, scoring one run; Anderson doubled, scoring two runs; and Nick Volz singled, scoring two runs.

Dairyland League: Casper leads comeback for Mudhens

Cecil 7, Bonduel 5

The Cecil Mudhens trailed by four runs after the first inning but fought back to top the Bonduel Broncos 7-5 on July 21 at Joe Peterman Memorial Field.

Kenny Casper collected three hits in five at bats in the win. Casper doubled in the second, fifth and the eighth innings to lead the comeback.

The Mudhens tied the game in the bottom of the fifth thanks to successive singles by Garrett Engel and Connor Schroeder along with a double by Casper, a sacrifice fly by Tucker Bouche and a wild pitch.

Hofa Park 5, Nichols 0

The Hofa Park Panthers defeated the Nichols Nitros 5-0.

Heinrich Walder got the win in the mound, throwing eight innings and allowing two hits. Mason Dorn and Brinton Anderson each had two hits in the contest. It was a well-played game with neither team committing an error.

Hofa Park will travel to Nichols on July 20 for a makeup game and then host the Pulaski Reds on July 21. Both games will start at 1:30 pm.

Dairyland: Navarino outlasts Marinette in 7-5 win

Navarino 7, Marinette 5

The Navarino Rangers jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning against Marinette on July 7 in Dairyland League Baseball.

Bailey Dingeldein reached on an error followed by Ryan Boettcher getting hit by a pitch. Brett Krull’s bunt single would set up a two-RBI double for Kyle Finger.

Navarino scored two more runs on an error by Marinette. The Rangers added a run in the third on a bases-loaded walk to Boettcher.

Marinette scored a run in the fifth and then tied the game at 5-5 in the sixth inning.

Cecil 10, Marinette 2

The Cecil Mudhens won 10-2 in a home game against visiting Marinette.

Marinette opened the scoring with the help of two walks, a pair of wild pitches and a single by Keagon Monroe that put Marinette on the board in the top of the first.

Waupaca 14, Cecil 3

Cecil could not match the power of Waupaca as they lost 14-3 in Dairyland League baseball action.

Waupaca Lakemen opened the scoring in the second after Ryan Dayton singled, scoring one run. They added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Walker Smith doubled and Alex Pankratz tripled, each scoring one run. With score 7-2, they scored six runs on six hits in the top of the eighth inning to secure the win.

Hortonville 7, Hofa Park 2

The Stars were able to exact revenge on the Hofa Park Panthers.

In a 7-2 victory, Colan Treml and Mason Thiel combined for 11 strikeouts on the mound while only allowing one earned run. Treml went six innings and picked up the win, while Thiel shut the door in the final three innings.

David Sell continued his frenzy at the dish, picking up three hits on the evening while Cage Kavanagh and Logan Grossman added a hit and two RBIs apiece.

Waupaca tops Hortonville in Dairyland title game

The Waupaca Lakemen won the Dairyland League championship after defeating Hortonville 3-0 on Aug. 27 in Waupaca.

Waupaca outhit Hortonville 5-2 in the contest, scoring once in the fourth and twice in the eighth to prevail.

Walker Smith gave Waupaca the lead in the fourth with a single, scoring Jake Pankratz. Luke Behm clubbed a two-run home run in the eighth, plating Eric Brehmer ahead of him.

Pulaski 0

Waupaca took down Pulaski in a Dairyland League semifinal playoff game on Aug. 20 in Waupaca. The hosts outhit the visitors 10-1.

Davis Levine posted two hits and drove in three of Waupaca’s runs. Walker Smith and Brenden Canterbury tallied two hits each.

Cam Seidl was the winning pitcher, striking out 11 over eight innings. Jack Eagan struck out three batters in the ninth and stranded the bases loaded.

Bonduel 6

Pulaski rallied to a playoff win over Bonduel on Aug. 13 in Bonduel.

Cody Pangrazzi earned the win on the hill after pitching the final three innings. Drew McDermid started and struck out eight batters over six innings.

Jason Infusino and Ethan Bemowski each homered for Pulaski. Jarrett Olson tied the game with a two-RBI hit.

Bonduel scored four times in the opening inning but was limited to two runs the rest of the way.
